GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 20 August 2008
amending Government Regulation No 19 / 2003 Coll., laying down technical requirements for toys
The Government orders pursuant to Section 22 of Act No. 22 / 1997 Coll., on Technical Requirements for Products and on the Amendment and Addition of Certain Acts, as amended by Act No. 71 / 2000 Coll. and Act No. 205 / 2002 Coll., to implement § 12 (1) (b) and (c) of this Act:
In Annex 3 to Decree-Law No 19 / 2003 Coll., laying down technical requirements for toys, point 7 is added, including the title and footnotes Nos 10 and 11:
"7. Magnetic toys
Magnetic toys shall be marked with the following text:
"Watch out! This toy contains magnets or magnetic parts. Magnets that attract each other or a metal object inside the human body can cause serious or fatal injuries. In case of ingestion or inhalation of magnets, seek immediate medical advice." or a text equivalent to an easily understandable text which clearly indicates the same content.
The warning shall be clearly visible and legible, clearly written on the packaging or otherwise attached to the magnetic toy, so that the consumer can see it well at the time of purchase and indicated in the Czech language.
A toy shall be regarded as a magnetic toy containing one or more magnets or one or more magnetic parts, the shape and size of which permit their swallowing (10) and which are available to children (11).

Transitional provision
Magnetic toys which have already been placed on the market and do not bear the required warning shall not be offered or sold after the entry into force of this Regulation. Magnetic toys which are not marked with the required warning shall be withdrawn from the market.
Efficacy
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
