of 8 February 1949
establishing the Order of 25 February 1948.
With the approval of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic, the Government hereby orders, pursuant to Article 1 of the Act of 21 October 1936, No 268 Coll., on Regulations and Titles, as amended by the Act of 25 March 1948, No 55 Coll.:
§ 1.
(1) The Order of 25 February 1948 is hereby established for citizens who have done an excellent job of completing the victory of popular democracy in February 1948. This order may also be awarded to military and similar departments, groups of persons and symbols for the same merit.
(2) The detailed provisions concerning the Order of 25 February 1948 contain the attached Statutes which form part of this Regulation.
§ 2.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; they shall be carried out by the Home Secretary in agreement with the participating members of the Government.

Statutes of the Order of 25 February 1948.
The Order of 25 February 1948 (hereinafter referred to as the Order) is established pursuant to Article 1 of the Act of 21 October 1936, No 268 Coll., on Regulations and Titles, as amended by the Act of 25 March 1948, No 55 Coll., with the approval of the President of the Republic of the Czechoslovak Government of the Republic, for citizens who obtained excellent merit in completing the victory of popular democracy in the Czechoslovak Republic in February 1948. For the same merit, the Order may also be awarded to military and similar services, groups of persons and symbols.
(1) The order has three degrees. The same person can only have one degree of order.
(2) The badges of individual degrees of order are:
a) The first degree badge is a five-pointed silver star. The inside of the spikes is red enamel, and gold flames are burning between the spikes of the star. The centre of the star is filled by a circular target whose face shows a right hand, a triangular flag and a laurel branch. It says "February 25, 1948" above the hand. On the back of the star there is a disc with the words "THE PERSON OF THE LAW" and above it is a lip branch; on the burning edge of the disk is the inscription "REPUBLIC OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA."
b) The badge of the second degree of order is a silver medal with a diameter of 33 mm, on whose face is displayed the right hand, a triangular battalion and a laurel branch. It says "February 25, 1948" above the hand. On the back of the medal there is the inscription "THE INTENTION OF THE PEOPLE'S LAW" and above it is the lip branch; on the burning edge of the medal is the inscription "REPUBLIC OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA."
c) A third degree badge is a bronze medal with a diameter of 33 mm, which has the same stamping as a silver medal.
(3) The ribbon of the order is 37 mm wide, 55 mm long and is red.
The Order is awarded by the President of the Republic on a proposal from the Government.
The Order is worn on the left side of the breast behind other Czechoslovak orders. If they wear only a ribbon of the order in uniform, the ribbon is 37 mm long and 10 mm wide, the first degree being marked with a gold star with a diameter of 10 mm, the second degree being a silver star with a diameter of 10 mm and the third degree being a bronze star of the same diameter. He can wear a miniature of order on civil clothing. On the battalion, the decorated pieces of a ribbon of 37 mm wide, with the first degree marked with a gold double-sided star with a diameter of 30 mm, the second degree with a silver double-sided star with the same diameter and the third degree with a bronze double-sided star with the same diameter.
(1) The Order is granted on a permanent and free basis.
(2) With the exception provided for in Article 6, no return shall be made.
The decorated one loses his order if he has been lawfully convicted by the court for a crime which, in turn, has lost both domestic and foreign orders, civil and military honours and honorary badges. The rank badge of the sentenced person is returned to the Ministry of the Interior.
The Ministry of the Interior manages things of the Order.
