GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 22 August 2001
concerning measures against certain citizens of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
The Government mandates pursuant to § 1 (2) of Act No. 98 / 2000 Coll., on the implementation of international sanctions to maintain international peace and security:
(1) Disdisposition with property shall be prohibited if it is situated in the territory of the Czech Republic and belongs to Slobodan Miloševič or one of the persons listed in the Annex to this Regulation.
(2) The supply, directly or indirectly, of the property of Slobodan Miloševich or of one of the persons listed in the Annex to this Regulation shall be prohibited.
(3) It shall be prohibited to participate in any activity which aims to circumvent the provisions of paragraphs 1 and 2.
Definition of terms
(1) The property referred to in Article 1 means in particular:
(a) financial assets and economic benefits of any kind, including cash and assets representing assets in securities, cheques, notes, payment orders and other payment instruments;
(b) deposits with financial and other institutions, balances on accounts, debts and bonds;
(c) assets representing shares and other instruments of participation, certificates, bonds, liens and income contracts;
(d) interest, dividends and other income on the assets or gains in value of those assets;
(e) loans, guarantees and guarantees received, including guarantees of good conduct;
(f) accepted letters of credit, bill of lading and claims on similar documents, claims on contracts for the sale of any property value;
(g) documents certifying the holding of part of the funds or financial resources and equivalent financial instruments;
(h) shares in capital companies forming a participation in the profits of those companies and entitlement to or part of the liquidation balance of those companies;
(i) copyright and intellectual property rights;
(j) other tangible assets.
(2) The disposal of the property referred to in Article 1 shall mean any operation aimed at the movement, transfer, modification, use or other handling of the property which would result in a change in the volume, amount, location, ownership or possession of the property or any other change which could enable its use, including the management of securities, except where the change in the amount of the property is the result of its increase by any interest or income generated or any amount due on a given date.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
