GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 25 July 2001
on the occupation of soldiers of the Army of the Czech Republic to perform the tasks of the Police of the Czech Republic in the radiation accidents of nuclear power plants
The Government orders pursuant to § 14 paragraph 3 of Act No. 219 / 1999 Coll., on the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, and pursuant to § 50a of Act No. 283 / 1991 Coll., on the Police of the Czech Republic, as amended by Act No. 26 / 1993 Coll.:
§ 1
The police of the Czech Republic will be used in a radiation accident to perform their duties.
(a) the Dukovany nuclear power plant, a maximum of 600 soldiers in active service with military equipment allocated;
(b) the Temelín nuclear power plant shall have a maximum of 100 soldiers in active service with military equipment assigned.
§ 2
(1) Soldiers in active duty carry out the tasks referred to in Section 1 under the command of a member of the Police of the Czech Republic and without a firearm.
(2) Soldiers in active service in the performance of their duties under § 1 have the authority of a member of the Police of the Czech Republic pursuant to § 12, § 13 (1), § 13 (2) (a), (e) and (f), § 13 (3) (c), § 13 (5) and § 14, 18 and 20 of the Police Act of the Czech Republic (1), as well as the right to stop vehicles.
(3) In the exercise of the authorisation referred to in paragraph 2, soldiers in active duty may use the means of enforcement referred to in § 38 (1) (a) to (d) of the Police Act of the Czech Republic, (1) as provided for in § 38 (2) to (5) of the Police Act of the Czech Republic (1).
§ 3
The Minister of Defence shall designate soldiers in active service with military technology assigned to carry out the tasks referred to in Article 1 of this Regulation.
§ 4
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
