on updating the TNM classification of malignant neoplasms
The Czech Statistical Office in cooperation with the Ministry of Health pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, announces with effect from 1 January 2011 the update of the TNM classification of malignant neoplasms.
TNM classification of malignant neoplasms, 7th edition 2010, Czech version 2011 is a system for describing the anatomical extent of diseases based on the determination of three components:
T - range of primary tumor,
N - absence or presence and extent of metastases in regional lymph nodes,
M - absence or presence of distant metastases.
Allocation of the digit to these three components gives the extent of the malignant tumor.
TNM classification of malignant neoplasms, 7th edition 2010, Czech version 2011 replaces the 6th edition 2002 TNM classification of malignant neoplasms, Czech version 2004, valid from 1 January 2005.
