setting limits on the concentration and quantity of nuclear material not covered by the provisions on nuclear damage
According to § 47 (7) of Act No. 18 / 1997 Coll., on the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy and Ionising Radiation (Atomic Act) and amending and supplementing certain laws, hereinafter referred to as "the Act ', the State Nuclear Safety Authority provides:
Subject matter
This decree sets out in the Annex limits on the concentration and quantity of nuclear material, (1) which, when transported or used outside a nuclear installation due to the small extent of the risk involved, is excluded from cover of liability for nuclear damage under the law.
Efficacy
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.

Concentration limits and quantities of nuclear material
1. Concentration limits for all radionuclides expressed as activity limit
(a) The total activity of nuclear material containing one or more radionuclides from the same group shall not exceed the following limits:

(b) Unidentified radionuclide shall be considered to belong to group 1 of the table referred to in (a).
(c) The total activity of radionuclides which are radionuclide radionuclide radionuclides of special forms shall not exceed 18,5 TBq.
(d) If the nuclear material contains special formy3 radionuclide radionuclides other than radionuclide radionuclide radionuclides or such radionuclides in different groups, whether in separate packages or in a common packaging file, the sum of the shares obtained by dividing the activity of each of the radionuclides present shall not exceed 1. If the individual activity of some of these radionuclides is not known, the lowest limit prescribed by the table in point (a) for any of these radionuclides shall be used as a factor of their total activity.
2. Quantity limits for special fissile material4) and plutonium -241
(a) For nuclear material containing one radionuclide

(b) For nuclear material containing more than one radionuclide, the weight limit shall be determined by the sum of the shares obtained by dividing the weight of each of the radionuclides present by the corresponding limit specified in the previous table. The sum of the shares thus acquired may not exceed 1.
1) Article I (1) (h) of the Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damages and the Joint Protocol on Application of the Vienna Convention and the Paris Convention, published under No 133 / 1994 Coll.
2) Annex No 4 to Decree No. 142 / 1997 Coll., on the type-approval of packages for the transport, storage or storage of radionuclide radionuclides and nuclear materials, type-approval of sources of ionising radiation, type-approval of protective equipment for working with sources of ionising radiation and other equipment for working with them (type-approval).
3) Annex No 1 to Decree No. 143 / 1997 Coll., on the transport and transport of designated nuclear materials and designated radionuclide radionuclides.
