Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:

1. In Article 29, the following paragraph 4 is added:
"(4) Under the conditions laid down in paragraph 3, the court may also impose a sentence of imprisonment on an offender who has committed an offence of assault pursuant to Article 222 (3), an offence of robbery pursuant to Article 234 (3), a criminal offence of hostage taking pursuant to Article 234a (3), a criminal offence of extortion pursuant to Article 235 (4), a criminal offence of rape pursuant to Article 241 (4) or a criminal offence of sexual abuse pursuant to Article 242 (4), and has been punished for such an offence. '
2. In Paragraph 222 (3), the words "five to twelve years' are replaced by the words" 10 to 15 years' or by an exceptional penalty '.
3. In Article 234 (3), the words "or exceptional punishment 'shall be added after the words" 10 to 15 years'.
4. In Article 234a (3), the words "or exceptional punishment 'shall be added after the words" 10 to 15 years'.
5. In Article 235 (3), the words "death or 'are deleted.
6. In Section 235, the following paragraph 4 is added:
"(4) By withdrawing liberty for 10 to 15 years or by exceptional punishment, the offender shall be punished if the act referred to in paragraph 1 causes death. '
7. In Paragraph 241 (4), the words "or exceptional punishment 'shall be added after the words" 10 to 15 years'.
8. In Paragraph 242 (4), the words "or exceptional punishment 'shall be added after the words" 10 to 15 years'.
Efficacy
This Act shall take effect on the first day of the third month following its publication.
