of 7 January 2009
on the issue of commemorative silver two hundred crowns for the 100th anniversary of reaching the North Pole
The Czech National Bank provides pursuant to § 22 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended by Act No. 442 / 2000 Coll.:
§ 1
(1) On the 100th anniversary of reaching the North Pole, a commemorative silver two-hundred crown (hereinafter referred to as "two-hundred crown") is issued. Its depiction is set out in an annex to this decree.
(2) Two hundred koruna is issued in the normal version and in a special version intended for collector's purposes with a polished field of coin and matte relief (hereinafter referred to as the special version).
(3) Two hundred korona in normal and special design is rolled from an alloy containing 900 parts of silver and 100 parts of copper. The weight of two hundred crowns is 13 g, its diameter is 31 mm and its strength is 2,35 mm. The edge of two hundred crowns in normal version is serrated, the edge of two hundred crowns in special version is smooth with the feature "CZECH NATIONAL BANKA * Ag 0.900 * 13 g *." In the case of an embossing of two hundred crowns in normal and special design, the tolerance shall be 0,1 mm in diameter and 0,15 mm in thickness. In mass, the tolerance shall be up to 0,26 g and in the silver content shall be up to 1%.
§ 2
(1) On the cheek of the 200 crown is a portrait of the polar man Robert Peary. On the outer ring is the name of the state "CZECH REPUBLIC" at the left and bottom edge of the coin with the abbreviation "200 CZK" at the right edge of the coin. Between the name of the State and the denomination of the coin, the logo of the International Polar Year is the logo of the coin. The mark of the mint that drove the two hundred crown is placed under a portrait of the polar man.
(2) On the reverse of the two hundred crown, there is an Arctic expedition with dogs above which there is a northern glow. At the left and lower edges of the crown, there is a non-closed copy of "NORTH PLE" and at the right edge of the crown are "1909 - 2009." Between the figure of the first polar man and the years are the initials of the author of the two hundred crown, academic sculptor Jiří Věneček, which are composed of joined letters "jv."
§ 3
This Decree takes effect on 4 March 2009.
