of 7 May 1953
on the conversion of existing schools into schools under the new school law.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders according to § 17 of Act No. 31 / 1953 Coll., on the School System and Teacher Education (Education Act):
The national, secondary and gymnasium schools are transformed into a new school system at the beginning of the school year 1953 / 54. For the school year 1953 / 54, the fourth year of the current secondary school will be left as a one-year course as required.
Students of the 3rd year of the current secondary school will complete compulsory education in 1952 / 53. They may, after successful examination, apply to the ninth consecutive year of the 11-year high school, to a pedagogical school or to a selection vocational school; may also continue school in the school year 1953 / 54 on a one-year course.
(1) In the school year 1952 / 53, not only pupils of the fourth gradual year, but also pupils of the 3rd gradual year of the gymnasium will cease attending the gymnasium.
(2) For pupils in the 3rd annual gymnasium, a holiday course will be set up in which they will be ready for the final exam.
(1) The present pedagogical gymnasium for the education of kindergarten teachers will be transformed into a teaching school for the education of kindergarten teachers in early 1953 / 54.
(2) In the school year 1953 / 54, in the educational schools for the education of kindergarten teachers, the fourth year of the present pedagogical gymnastics will be left.
The present pedagogical gymnasium for the education of teachers of national schools and the current higher social school - the branch of education will be converted into a pedagogical school for the education of teachers of national schools at the beginning of the school year 1953 / 54.
(1) The present faculty of education will be transformed into higher education or higher education schools at the beginning of the school year 1953 / 54.
(2) Higher pedagogical schools and higher education schools will be assigned for a transitional period to the second and higher years of the existing faculty, whose students will complete their studies according to existing regulations.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; they shall be carried out by the Minister for Education and Education in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
