DECLARATION
of 18 September 2013
on the issue of a commemorative silver two hundred crown for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Otto Wichterle
The Czech National Bank provides pursuant to § 22 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended by Act No. 442 / 2000 Coll.:
(1) On 23 October 2013, the 100th anniversary of the birth of the chemist and inventor of Otto Wichterle's contact lenses is issued with a commemorative silver coin of CZK 200 (hereinafter referred to as "two hundred crowns").
(2) Two hundred koruna is issued in the normal version and in a special version with polished field of coin and matte relief (hereinafter "special version").
(3) The two-hundred korona in normal and special design is rolled from an alloy containing 925 parts of silver and 75 parts of copper. The weight of the two-hundredth crown is 13 g, its diameter 31 mm and its strength 2,2 mm. In the case of an embossing of two hundred crowns in normal and special design, the tolerance shall be 0,1 mm in diameter and 0,15 mm in thickness. In mass, the tolerance shall be up to 0,26 g and in the silver content shall be up to 1%. The edge of two hundred crowns in normal design is serrated, the edge of two hundred crowns in special design is smooth with the feature "CZECH NATIONAL BANKA * Ag 0.925 * 13 g *."
(1) On the front side of the two-hundred crown is the name of the state "CZECH REPUBLIC," the denomination of the commemorative coin with the abbreviation of the money unit "200 CZK" and the text "Soft CONTACT CATCH." The part of the text covered by the image of the contact lens is focused, the remaining part is blurred. The brand of the Czech Mint consisting of the composition of the letters "Za" and "M" is at the bottom edge of the two hundred crowns.
(2) On the back of the 200 crown is a portrait of Otto Wichterle. The texts "OTTO WICHTERLE" and the years "1913" and "2013" interfere with the portrait. Above the name "WICHTERLE" are the initials of the author of the two hundred crown, MgA. Josef Oplištil, which are composed of the associated letters "OJ." The part of the portrait and text covered by the image of the contact lens is focused, the remaining part is blurred.
(3) The picture of the two hundred crown is given in the annex to this decree.
This Decree shall take effect on 23 October 2013.
