on the updating of the CZ- DRG hospitalized patients classification
The Czech Statistical Office pursuant to Article 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the National Statistical Service, announces, with effect from 1 January 2023, the update of the Classification of hospitalised patients of the CZ- DRG (hereinafter "CZ- DRG classification ') introduced by the Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 159 / 2018 Coll., of 31 July 2018, on the introduction of the Classification of hospitalised patients of the CZ- DRG, as amended by the Czech Statistical Office No. 253 / 2019 Coll., Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 67 / 2020 Coll., Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 385 / 2022 Coll.
The CZ-DRG classification (Czech - Diagnosis Related Groups) allows to classify patients in acute bed care based on their clinical similarity and comparability of the cost of their hospitalisation stay.
For the classification of CZK-DR, version 5.0 of Revision 1, for year 2023:
1. Methodology to build a hospitalisation case in the CZ- DRG system, version 5.0 of Revision 1, valid version of the CZ- DRG Pre-grouper software, version 5.0 of Revision 1, and accompanying methodological instructions:
a. Data interface of the CZ- DRG Pre-grouper tool,
b. Installation manual and user manual for CZ- DRG Pre-grouper,
c. Technical documentation of the CZK-DRG Pre-grouper tool.
2. Definition Manual of the CZ- DRG classification system, version 5.0 of Revision 1, valid version of the CZ- DRG Grouper software, version 5.0 of Revision 1, and accompanying methodological instructions:
a. Methodology for the use of DRG markers in the CZ- DRG system
b. Code list for critical performance and DRG markers of the CZ- DRG system,
c. CZ- DRG Grouper data interface,
d. Installation manual and user manual of the CZ- DRG Grouper,
e. Technical documentation of CZK-DRG Grouper.
3. Rules for encoding and reporting diagnoses in the CZ- DRG system, version 5.0 of revision 1.
4. Methodology for calculation of relative weights in the CZ- DRG system, version 5.0 of revision 1, and accompanying methodological instructions:
a. Relevant costs of the hospitalisation case in the CZ- DRG system;
b. Methodology for the evaluation of the hospitalisation case in the CZ- DRG system;
c. Methodology for assignment of relative weight to the hospitalisation case in the CZ- DRG system
d. The figure of the relative weights of the CZ- DRG system.
The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, Palacký Square 4, 128 01 Prague 2 is responsible for the issue and distribution of the above materials. The Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic is a service organisation for the classification of CZ- DRG.
The definition manual and other methodologies, as well as the Pre-Grouper and Grouper software for the classification of CZK-DRG, version 5.0 of Revision 1, can be obtained in electronic form using the procedure set out on the website www.mmcr.cz. Binding methodological materials and code lists for use in the CZ- DRG classification, version 5.0 of Revision 1, are also published on this website. All relevant information, including methodological materials and data analysis reports, is also published on the DRG Restart portal https: / / drg.uzis.cz.
