Slovak National Council
of 12 March 1970
on the settlements and districts of the district and county courts of the Slovak Socialist Republic
The Slovak National Council decided on this law:
§ 1
(1) The districts of the District Courts coincide with the districts of the District National Committees.
(2) Circumstances of the District Courts in the territory of the Slovak Socialist Republic of Bratislava coincide with urban districts.
(3) There is a Municipal Court in Košice in Košice.
§ 2
The offices of the District Courts are the same as those of the District National Committees. The seat of the District Courts in Bratislava is the capital of the Slovak Socialist Republic of Bratislava. By decree, the Minister of Justice of the Slovak Socialist Republic may designate a place other than that of the District National Committee as the seat of the Court.
§ 3
(1) The houses of the county courts are in Bratislava, Banská Bystrica and Košice. The capital of the Slovak Socialist Republic is the seat of the Municipal Court in Bratislava.
(2) The districts of the regional courts are:
(a) District of the Regional Court in Bratislava
1. Bratislava-rural,
2. Danube Streda,
3. Galanta,
4. Komárno,
5. Left,
6. Nitra,
7. New Locks,
8. Senica,
9. Topojčany,
10. Trencin,
11. Trnava,
(b) District Court of Banská Bystrica
1. Banská Bystrica,
2. Chadca,
3. Dolní Kubín,
4. Liptovský Mikulas,
5. Archenec,
6. Martin,
7. The Provincial Bystrica,
8. Prievidza,
9. Rimava Saturday,
10. Big You Cow,
11. Elected,
12. Jiar above Hronom,
13. Venison,
(c) District Court in Košice
1. Bardejov,
2. Humane,
3. Shirt-town,
4. Shirt-country,
5. Michalopods,
6. Poprad,
7. Prešov,
8. Roast,
9. Spišská Nová Ves,
10. Old Bohemian,
11. Scent,
12. Trebišov,
13. Vranov.
(3) The district of the City Court in Bratislava consists of urban districts
1. Bratislava I,
2. Bratislava II
3. Bratislava III,
4. Bratislava IV.
§ 4
The Minister of Justice of the Slovak Socialist Republic may by decree:
(a) provide that certain cases of a kind shall be dealt with by a district (district) court of several courts of the same regional court (Municipal Court of Bratislava),
(b) establish a branch of the District Court,
(c) divide the district court by type of agenda into several separate courts.
§ 5
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
