of 10 June 1955
on the Government Committee on Research and Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy and the Institute of Nuclear Physics.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders, with the agreement of the President of the Republic, pursuant to § 1 of the Constitutional Act No. 47 / 1950 Coll., on adaptations to the organisation of public administration, and pursuant to § 15 (1) of Act No. 12 / 1955 Coll., on the State Plan for the Development of the National Economy of the Czechoslovak Republic for 1955:
(1) The Government Committee on Research and Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy (hereinafter referred to as the Government Committee) is responsible for the development of research and the peaceful use of atomic energy.
(2) The Government Committee is composed of a chairman and members appointed and dismissed by the Government.
(1) The tasks of the Government Committee shall be determined by the Government.
(2) The Government Committee may, on the basis of government guidelines, impose tasks in the research and peaceful use of nuclear energy on individual ministers and central authorities.
(3) In order to ensure the performance of its tasks, the Government Committee issues binding directives and guidelines.
(1) The Institute of Nuclear Physics (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) is hereby established for the purpose of carrying out research and use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.
(2) The Institute shall:
(a) to carry out basic and applied research in the field of nuclear physics, radiochemistry and nuclear energy, focusing in particular on the use of results in the energy economy of the Czechoslovak Republic, as well as in science and in the practice of other fields, particularly in industry, agriculture and health;
(b) ensure the rapid transfer of scientific knowledge, research results, technical and manufacturing experience to practice, in particular in the field of the use of radio isotopes;
(c) to produce radioactive isotopes and radioactive compounds for their widespread use in science and in the various sectors of the national economy of the Czechoslovak Republic;
(d) to raise scientific aspirants in the fields of nuclear physics, radiochemistry and nuclear energy;
(e) issue expert publications in the field of research and the peaceful use of atomic energy.
(1) The activities of the Institute are governed by the Government Committee.
(2) The head of the Institute is the Director of the Institute and the Deputy Directors are appointed and dismissed by the Government on a proposal from the Government Committee.
(3) The Institute is a separate budgetary organisation.
(4) Details of the organisation and tasks of the Institute are laid down in the Statute to be issued by the Government Committee.
(1) The provisions of Act No. 14 / 1955 Coll., on the establishment and abolition of research institutes, technical development services and research and experimental centres do not apply to the Institute.
(2) The government shall adjust the employment and pay ratios of the staff of the Institute.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; All members of the government will do it.
