Government Regulation

of 8 July 1952

on certain changes in the organisation of universities.

The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders pursuant to § 3 of Act No. 58 / 1950 Coll., on Higher Education:

§ 1.

(1) From the existing Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Czech Technical University in Prague, the University of Agriculture in Prague and the Faculty of Forestry Czech Technical University in Prague are established.

(2) The agricultural university is divided into agronomic, economic and mechanisational faculties.

§ 2.

(1) The University of Veterinary Sciences in Brno is merged with the Agricultural Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry University in Brno in the Agricultural School in Brno.

(2) This university is divided into agronomic, zootechnical and veterinary faculties.

§ 3.

The so-called Faculty of Forestry at the University of Agricultural and Forestry in Brno is organically associated with the University of Construction in Brno.

§ 4.

(1) The University of Veterinary Sciences in Košice is merged with the Agricultural Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry University in Košice in the Agricultural School in Nitra.

(2) This university is divided into agronomic, zootechnical and veterinary faculties.

§ 5.

(1) The Faculty of Forestry of Agricultural and Forestry University in Košice is converted into a school of forestry and timber in Zvolena.

(2) This university is divided into the Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Wood.

§ 6.

(1) A Technical University in Košice is established.

(2) This university is divided into heavy engineering, mining and metallurgical schools. The Mining Faculty of Technical University in Košice is created by the integration of the existing mining Faculty of Slovak Technical University in Bratislava.

§ 7.

Faculty of Geological and Geographical Sciences is established at Charles University in Prague and at Slovak University in Bratislava.

§ 8.

The branch of the Faculty of Education of Slovak University in Bratislava is moved from Košice to Prešov.

§ 9.

Measures taken in conformity with the provisions of this Regulation before its effect shall be deemed to have been taken under this Regulation from the date of the measures taken under this Regulation.

§ 10.

This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 September 1952, except for the provisions of Paragraph 7, which shall take effect on 1 August 1952, and the provisions of Section 8, which shall take effect on 1 September 1953; They shall be carried out by the Minister for Education, Science and Art in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
