of 3 April 1951
establishing orders and honours and regulating the award of the honorary title "Hero of the Work."
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders, with the agreement of the President of the Republic pursuant to § § 1 and 7 of Act No. 247 / 1949 Coll., on honours and honorary recognition:
In order to appreciate the merit of building the state and its economic, political, social and cultural development and the merit of strengthening its industry,
2. the following rules shall be established:
(b) the "Order of the Republic,"
(c) the "Order of Work";
3. honours are established:
(a) "For construction merit,"
(b) "For excellent work,"
c) "For bravery."
The Order of the Republic is given for exceptional merit in the construction of the Czechoslovak Republic, in particular its peaceful building efforts in production or in cultural or scientific activities, or in increasing the State's defence capacity.
The Order of Work is awarded for significant economic performance, in particular in industry, agriculture, transport or trade, in state or other public service, for special achievements in scientific, research or other cultural activities, or for technical improvements and inventions of major economic importance, or for merit in increasing the military's defence capability.
Honours For the merits of construction, it is given to those who, by their excellent work, are leading fighters for socialist construction, to those who are models of the use of technical possibilities and make a significant contribution to increasing the production capacity of work, or to those who have been particularly worthy of developing science, culture or technology.
Honours For excellent work, it is given to those who have made excellent stripping work and continuous extraordinary performances a role model in the performance of their tasks and have acquired additional staff to follow, or those who have contributed their excellent work to the development of science, culture or technology.
Honours For bravery, it is given to those who have shown bravery or dedication in the struggle with the divisive and other enemies of the state or in defending the integrity of state borders, or other excellent manifestations of civil bravery and courage.
Details of the conditions for the award of the honorary title "Hero of the Work" and the granting of orders and honours established by this Regulation, the description of the gold star Hero of the Work and Order and Honours, as well as details of their wearing and bearing of the existing Regulations and honours are contained in the attached Statutes which are part of this Regulation.
Matters of the honorary title "Hero of Work" and of the orders and honours established by this regulation are administered by the Prime Minister. Submission and consideration of proposals for the honorary title "Hero of Labour" and for the granting of orders and honours, the Prime Minister shall amend the guidelines in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; All members of the government will do it.

Order of the Republic, Order of the Labour
and honours
For merit in construction, for excellent work and for bravery.
The Order of the Republic.
(1) The Order of the Republic is given special credit for the construction of the Czechoslovak Republic, in particular its peaceful building efforts in production or in cultural or scientific activities, or for increasing the State's defence capacity.
(2) The Order of the Republic provides the President of the Republic, on a proposal from the Government.
(3) At the same time as the Order, he will receive a decorated diploma and an order book as evidence to carry the Order.
(4) The order of the Republic shall have the shape of a red, silver-framed square, the side of which shall be 40 mm. A gold-plated five-pointed star with a colour symbol of CSSR in a regular pentagon is placed at the centre of the coco-laid square. There are gold-plated lip triplets between the points of the star. The star is supported by ten silver rays with severed spikes, of which four upper and four lower exceed the edge of the badge. There are narrow silver interrays in the red area. The upper corner of the square is connected with a trapezoidal silver ear with a dark blue 38 mm wide trapeze ribbon, on the bottom of which is a metal gilded frieze of ten lime leaves. There is a horizontal white and red stripe above the surface. The white strip is 2.5 mm wide, 2.5 mm red and 5 mm friezes. The back of the square is smooth with an engraved matrix number on top.
(5) If only the ribbon of the order is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar of 38x10 mm. It consists of a horizontal stripe of white, red and blue in a ratio of 2.5: 2.5: 5. The blue stripe is covered with a metal gilded frieze of ten lime petals.
The Order of Work.
(1) The Order of Work is awarded for significant economic performance, in particular in industry, agriculture, transport or trade, in state or other public service, for special achievements in scientific, research or other cultural activities or for technical improvements and inventions of major economic importance, or for merit in increasing the military's defence capacity.
(2) The Order of the Work provides for proposals from the Government of the President of the Republic.
(3) At the same time as the Order, he will receive a decorated diploma and an order book as evidence to carry the Order.
(4) The Order of Work is a five-point red enamel star with a diameter of 48 mm, placed on a gear wheel with a diameter of 40 mm. In the middle of the star there is an unenamelled target with a diameter of 18 mm, with the inscription "Honor of Work," two lip branches and a rising sun. On the circumference of the gear wheel there is a plastic garland of ears. On the back of the order are the stars in the middle of the target, lined with laurel branches, sickle and hammer, letters of ČSR and matrix number. The Order is struck by silver. The silver suspension ring is suspended on the ribbon 38 mm wide and 55 mm long; The ribbon is blue (work suit colour) with 15 mm wide bright blue stripe in the middle. The image is connected.
(5) The Order of Work is worn on the left side of the breast. If only the ribbon of the order is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long.
A medal for merit in construction.
(1) The award for the merits of construction is given to those who, by their excellent work, are leading fighters for socialist construction, to those who are models of the offensive use of technical possibilities and make a significant contribution to increasing the productivity of the work, or to those who have been particularly deserving of the development of science, culture or technology.
(2) The President of the Republic, acting on a proposal from the Government, grants the Medal of Merit for Construction.
(3) At the same time as the honours, he will receive a decorated diploma and a badge as a document for wearing the honours.
(4) The honour of the construction merit is the shape of a 33 mm diameter circle. In the lower part, the building comes to the forefront from the blocks on which are the letters of ČSR. Above the construction is a five-pointed star with a sickle and a hammer and four flaming flags behind it. In the background there are two lip branches along both edges. On the back of the medal there is the inscription "For Construction Merit," above it a lime branch and a matrix number below. The medal is embossed with silver. The silver curtain, formed by two volumes of ears, is hung on a ribbon 38 mm wide and 55 mm long; The ribbon is red with two 3 mm wide blue stripes in the middle. The image is connected.
(5) The honour of the construction merit is worn on the left side of the breast. If only the ribbon is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long.
Honours for excellent work.
(1) Honours For excellent work, it is given to those who have made excellent stripping work and continuous extraordinary performances a role model in the performance of their tasks and have acquired additional staff to follow, or those who have contributed their excellent work to the development of science, culture or technology.
(2) The President of the Republic, acting on a proposal from the Government, gives an award for excellent work.
(3) At the same time as the honours, he will receive a decorated diploma and a badge as a document for wearing the honours.
(4) Honours For excellent work is the shape of a circle with a diameter of 33 mm. On the cheek of the decoration lies the lip branches of the ribbon with the inscription "For Excellent Work" and above it sickle and hammer. On the back of the decoration, lined with lime branches, there are letters of the Czech Republic, above them a five-pointed star and a matrix number. The medal is stamped with bronze. The bronze curtain, formed by two laurel branches, is hung on the ribbon 38 mm wide and 55 mm long; the ribbon is blue (the colour of the working suit) with two 3 mm wide red stripes in the middle. The image is connected.
(5) Honours For excellent work it is worn on the left side of the breast. If only the ribbon is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long.
Honours for bravery.
(1) Honours For bravery, it is given to those who have shown bravery or dedication in the struggle with the divisive and other enemies of the state or in defending the integrity of state borders, or other excellent manifestations of civil bravery and courage.
(2) The President of the Republic, acting on a proposal from the Government, grants the Medal of Valor.
(3) At the same time as the honours, he will receive a decorated diploma and a badge as a document for wearing the honours.
(4) Honours For bravery is the shape of a 33 mm diameter circle. In the left half of the honours are two branches, laurel and lime, tied down by a ribbon with the inscription "For bravery"; to the right of the branches are the letters of ČSR. On the back there are laurel and lipo flips and a matrix number label in the middle. The medal is embossed with silver. The silver suspension ring is suspended on the ribbon 38 mm wide and 55 mm long; The ribbon is blue with 9 mm wide stripe in state colours in the middle. The image is connected.
(5) Honours for bravery are worn on the left side of the breast. If only the ribbon is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long.
Order of orders and honours.
(1) The Order of Socialism, the Order of the Republic, the Order of Work and Honours for Merit for Construction, for Excellent Work and for Bravery is worn on the left side of the breast. The current orders and honours are worn on the side of the breast, which was determined by its own statutes, except for the silver star of the Order of 25 February 1948, which is worn on the right side of the breast.

(3) If only ribbons of orders and honours are worn, they are always worn on the left side of the breast and rank from right to left in the following order:

Common provisions.
The honorary title "Hero of the Labour" and the Order of Socialism, the Order of the Republic, the Order of the Labour (hereinafter referred to as "the Order") or the honours for merit of construction, for excellent work and for bravery (hereinafter referred to as "honours") can be lent even after death; In such a case, the golden star Hero's work, order or honours and papers will be delivered to the family decorated.
If he died decorated, the golden star shall be left to the Hero of Labor, Order or Medal and documents as a monument to his family; But no family can wear them. If there is no one in the deceased's family, either the golden star of Hero's work, order or honours and papers shall be returned to the office of the Bureau of Government.
(1) If a decorated act has been committed which makes him unworthy of the honorary title "Hero of Work," order or honours, or if the facts have subsequently come to light, suggesting that the honorary title "Hero of Work," order or honours have been given to him undeservedly, the honorary title "Hero of Work," order or honours are lost.
(2) As soon as the Commission set up pursuant to § 9 (2) of Act No. 247 / 1949 Coll., either the golden star of Hero's work, order or honours and documents are declared, immediately returned to the Bureau of the Government.
(3) Either the golden star of Hero's work, order or distinction, and the documents lost by the defendant in the loss of civil rights by the court, shall be returned to the Bureau of the Bureau of the Government.
(1) In the event of loss, theft and theft, the Office of the Bureau of the Government may issue a replacement gold star to Hero's work, order or honours and documents for the remuneration which it shall determine.
(2) Loss and theft shall be notified without delay to the Bureau of the Government.
(3) The Golden Star Hero's Work, Order and Honours are inalienable.
(1) Order or distinction can be given also
(a) a set of persons constituting a working or other collective. In order to take over the rules or honours and documents, the collective shall choose from among its centre a delegation;
(b) a military unit, a department of the National Security Corps or any other similar department. The delegation shall be designated by the unit headquarters to take over the rules or honours and documents; the decoration shall be carried out as a general rule before the service is assembled;
(c) undertakings, institutes and public authorities or their symbols. The delegation shall be designated by the competent authority to take over the rules or honours and documents.
(2) In the event of the demise of a decorated group of persons or a decorated department, undertaking or institute, either order or award and documents shall be returned to the office of the Bureau of the Government.
The honorary title "Hero of Labour" and the Order and Honours is administered by the Prime Minister.
