Government Regulation
of 18 January 1949
supplementing the regulations on certain honours.
With the agreement of the President of the Czechoslovak Republic, the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic hereby orders the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic pursuant to Article 1 of the Act of 21 October 1936, No 268 Coll., on Regulations and Titles, as amended by the Act of 25 March 1948, No 55 Coll., and having regard to Articles II and III, paragraph 1 thereafter:
Honours based on:
(a) Government Decree of 20 December 1940, No 4 OJ of 1941, establishing the Czechoslovak War Cross of 1939 (Decree of 26 January 1946, No. 41 Coll.),
(b) by the Government Decree of 20 December 1940, No 5, OJ L 346, 31.12.1940, p. Czechoslovak Medal of Valor before the enemy (Decree of 26 January 1946, No. 42 Coll.),
(c) the Government Order of 20 April 1943, No 5, OJ No 1943, establishing the Czechoslovak Military Medal for Merit (Decree of 23 March 1946, No 56 Coll.), as amended by the Government Decree of 5 March 1946, No 70 Coll.,
(d) the Government Order of 9 February 1945, No 7 OJ No 1945, establishing the Czechoslovak Military Order of the White Lion "For Victory" (Decree of 26 January 1946, No 43 Coll.), as amended by the Government Decree of 5 October 1948, No 240 Coll.,
(e) Government Order of 2 April 1946, No. 105 Coll., establishing the Czechoslovak Military Order "For Freedom,"
f) Government Decree of 14 June 1946, No 154 Coll., establishing the Czechoslovak Jánošík Medal,
(g) By order of the Slovak National Council of 23 August 1945, No 102 Coll. on the establishment of the "Order of the Slovak National Uprising," even if this does not result from the wording of the above provisions and the statutes attached thereto, it may also be granted to foreign nationals, military and similar departments, groups of persons and symbols representing the groups of persons who have deserved it.
The Decree of the Slovak National Council of 23 August 1945, No. 103 Coll. of SNR, on the establishment of the "Order for Heroism at Work ', is hereby repealed.
This Regulation shall enter into force on 15 April 1948; they shall be carried out by the Minister for National Defence, in agreement with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, as regards the award of honours to foreigners.
