DECLARATION
of 5 September 2012
concerning the erucic acid content of certain foodstuffs
According to Article 19 (1) (a) of Act No. 110 / 1997 Coll., on Food and Tobacco Products and amending and supplementing certain related laws, as amended by Act No. 306 / 2000 Coll., Act No. 146 / 2002 Coll., Act No. 316 / 2004 Coll. and Act No. 120 / 2008 Coll.:
§ 1
Preliminary provisions
This decree implements the relevant provisions of the European Union1) and provides for the permissible content of erucic acid as a toxicologically relevant substance in certain foodstuffs.
§ 2
Allowed erucic acid content in certain foodstuffs
Erucic acid content
(a) oils, fats and mixtures thereof intended for human consumption;
(b) in foodstuffs to which oils, fats or their mixtures have been added;
must not exceed 5% of the total fatty acids in the fatty component.
§ 3
Repeal
Decree No 305 / 2004 Coll., establishing the species of contaminating and toxicologically relevant substances and their permitted levels in foodstuffs, is repealed.
§ 4
Efficacy
This Decree shall take effect on 1 October 2012.
