of 21 December 1948
on a special interest tax on savings deposits.
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
§ 1.
Interest on savings deposits on books and bills issued by monetary institutions (hereinafter referred to as "interest ') shall not be subject to a pension tax starting in 1950.
§ 2.
(1) Interest paid or credited for the period after 31 December 1948 is subject to a special interest tax of 14%.
(2) The tax referred to in paragraph 1 shall be deducted and paid in accordance with the rules on deduction and payment of the rent and shall, unless otherwise provided for in that law, be subject to the provisions of the Law of 15 June 1927, No 76 Coll., on direct taxes, as amended by the Regulations amending it and supplementing it.
(3) Interest continues to be subject to rent tax.
§ 3.
Paragraph 33 (2) of the Act of 23 September 1930, No 143 Coll., on the postal savings bank, is deleted.
§ 4.
This Law shall take effect on 1 January 1949; to be carried out by the Minister for Finance.
