on the issue of banknotes for 5000 CZK
The Czech National Bank provides according to § 22 (a) of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank:
On 15 December 1993, banknotes of CZK 5000 model 1993 (hereinafter referred to as "the banknote") are issued for circulation.
(1) The banknote is 74 mm wide and 170 mm long. The tolerance allowed in its width and length is ± 1,5 mm. The banknote is printed on a naturally coloured paper with a local tiered watermark and a protective window strip.
(2) The tiered watermark is placed on the 44 mm wide, unprinted edge of the banknote (hereinafter referred to as the coupon) and consists of a portrait of Thomas Garrigua Masaryk.
(3) A protective 1,4 mm width window strip is embedded in paper in a perpendicular direction to the longer side of the banknote throughout its width, at a distance of 99 mm from the left edge of the banknote with ± 6 mm movement tolerance. On the front side of the banknote, there is always 5 mm on the surface of the paper a silver stripe of 5 mm long, on which the negative microtext "5000 CZK" is readable from the bottom up.
(4) The banknote shall bear a protective serial number in the form of the letter "C" in which the letter "S" is inserted. Its upper part printed in grey blue is visible on the front of the banknote in the upper left part of the print pattern, the lower part printed also in grey blue on the reverse side of the banknote in the upper right part of the print pattern. The entire brand is visible from both sides of the banknote in the view against the light. When viewed from the reverse side of the banknote, the protective contour mark is sideways inverted.
(1) There is a portrait of Tomáš Garrigua Masaryk on the face of the banknote in the right part of the print pattern. It is printed by printing from depth in color grey-black and grey-blue. The name "TOMÉ GARRIGUE MASARYK" is placed in three rows above the portrait arm. It is also printed by printing from deep grey black. On the shoulder of the portrait there is a surface for hidden pattern in two lip sheets, which, at a certain angle of light impact, creates a dark or bright number "5000," printed in grey blue. From the portrait to the right, the longer sides of the banknote lead a denser belt of grey-blue colour exceeding 5 mm wide unprinted edge. The number "5000" is negative on the belt from top to bottom. On the left of the number there are also negative pictures of leaves and fruits on the belt. Under the belt, at the right edge of the banknote there is a rose made of grey and blue-white ribbon. Belt, number, lime leaves and fruits and roses are printed by printing from the surface. In the top right corner of the banknote there is a tactile mark for blind and weak-sighted. The marker consists of three horizontal strips placed below each other with sides 1 x 8 mm, which are 5 mm apart. The tactile mark is printed by printing from depth in blue and black. At the bottom edge of the banknote on the left is printed with a print from depth in the color grey-black name of the author of the draft banknote "O. KULHÁNEK INV.," right in the color grey-blue name of the author of the engraving transcription of the portrait "M. ONDRÁEK SC."
(2) In the left part of the print pattern there is a text in two rows indicating the denomination of the banknote "FIVE TISÍK KORUNE ČESKÝ" in two rows the name of the Emission Bank "CZECH NATIONAL BANK." On the left of the name of the issue bank is the year of issue of the banknote "1993" and on the right facsimile signature of the Governor of the Czech National Bank. The designation of the representative of the Emission Bank by the word "GUVERNER 'shall be placed under the facsimile of its signature. All the above texts are printed by printing from deep grey black. In the background of the text, the upper part of the banknote in the color grey-blue shows the leaves and fruits, in the lower part dark and white ribbon, which passes behind the portrait head up to the top right corner of the print pattern. Background is printed by printing from the surface. At the top of the banknote, the hexagon surface is printed with an optically variable colour, in which there is a negative picture of the lion's head with the crown. The color of the hexagon surface depends on the angle of light impact, it changes from purple to gold to green. From the hexagon plateau, the rays printed in pink and blue-grey appear towards the leaves and fruits. The underprint of the front side of the banknote consists of a small sheet in blue and pink.
(3) The upper part of the coupon is printed by printing from the depth of the large significant number "5000" indicating the denomination of the banknote. The contours of the digits are printed in grey blue, which in the lower part passes into grey black.
(1) On the back of the banknote, in several shades of grey-blue colour, a group of the most famous Prague Gothic and Baroque buildings in perspective, with the dominance of St. Vitus Cathedral in the middle. In the upper part of the print pattern, two gothic shields with historical characters of Prague (left) and Bohemia (right) are printed in the color of dark-pink. In the lower part of the print pattern the picture of Prague is supplemented by Prague's home signs and tombstones from the Jewish cemetery. In the right part of the print pattern, a belt in grey blue is printed in parallel with the longer sides of the banknote, on which the large national emblem of the Czech Republic is also printed in grey blue. Under the belt there is a rose made of dark pink and grey blue ribbon. In the upper right corner of the print pattern above the rose is printed in the color grey-blue plant motif, in which is placed the contour mark. The underprint in grey blue and dark blue is made of small raster. In the lower left corner of the print pattern the number "5000" is printed, its contours are grey blue. At the same time as the bottom of the banknote, the inscription "FAILURE BANKNOTES ARE CRIED BY THE LAW 'shall be placed on the right of the number" 5000'. The color of the inscription is grey blue. At the lower edge of the banknote, the inscription "© CZECH NATIONAL BANK" (left), "STATE PRESCRIBILITY CENIN, PRAHA" (middle) and the name of the author of the engraving transcription of the main motif of the "V. FAJT SC." All displayed images and texts are printed by printing from the surface.
(2) The denomination of the series of banknotes in one capital letter of the alphabet and the two-digit number and the six-digit serial number of the banknote shall be printed in a horizontal direction lower right under the national emblem of the Czech Republic and in a vertical direction up in half the shorter side of the banknote at the unprinted edge on the left. Both series descriptions and banknote serial numbers are printed from a height in black. The numbers of the horizontally situated serial number of the banknote are increased from left to right.
(3) The upper part of the coupon is printed by printing from the area in the color grey blue with a large distinctive number "5000" indicating the denomination of the banknote. The area of the digits is filled with a small raster combined with grey and grey blue.
This Decree shall take effect on 1 December 1993.
