The Czech Statistical Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the National Statistical Service, as amended by Act No. 411 / 2000 Coll., announces, with effect from 1 January 2015, the update of the Classification of Hospital Patients (IR- DRG), established by the Communication of the Czech Statistical Office No. 427 / 2005 Coll. of 13 October 2005, as amended (hereinafter "the IR- DRG classification ').

The IR- DRG classification allows patients to be classified in acute hospital care based on their clinical similarity and comparability of the cost of their hospital stay.

For the classification of IR- DRG, a definition manual, version 012 (pdf format), program for automated classification of cases into DRG according to this classification (so-called grouper), Czech version 012 and binding methodological materials and code lists for use under the classification IR- DRG, version 012. For the classification of IR- DRG patients in acute hospital care during 2013, the definition manual, version 010.2013 (pdf format), program for automated classification of cases into the DRG according to this classification (so-called grouper), Czech version 010.2013 and binding methodological materials and code lists for use in the IR- DRG classification, version 010.2013. The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, Palacký Square 4, 128 01 Prague 2 is responsible for the issue and distribution of the above materials.

The definition manual and grouper for IR- DRG classification can be obtained in electronic form using the procedure specified on the Ministry of Health website (www.mzcr.cz). Binding methodological materials and code lists for use under the IR- DRG classification are also published on this website.
