Czech National Banks
of 18 October 1995
on the issue of banknotes of CZK 500 model 1995
The Czech National Bank provides according to § 22 (a) of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank:
§ 1
On 27 December 1995, banknotes of CZK 500 model 1995 (hereinafter referred to as the "1995 model banknote") are issued for circulation.
§ 2
(1) The model banknote 1995 has the same dimensions including tolerance as the 500 CZK banknote of model 19931) (hereinafter referred to as "model banknote 1993"). Paper of the same quality and colour is used for the 1995 banknote, with the same watermark and protective window band as for the 1993 banknote.
(2) The protective serial number is the same as that of the model 1993. However, the contour mark is smaller and is printed in a dark brown colour on the front side and the space inside the letters "C 'and" S' missing light brown shrafting; on the reverse side it is printed in the upper part in dark brown colour, in the lower part in brown colour.
§ 3
(1) On the face of the 1995 banknote, the images and texts are the same as in the 1993 banknote. They are printed using the same printing techniques as in model 1993.
(2) The front page of the 1995 banknote differs from the front page of the 1993 banknote as follows:
a) portrait, tactile mark for blind and weak-sighted and all texts are printed in dark brown;
b) the portrait and tactile mark for the blind and weak-sighted are printed in only one shade of dark brown; the tactile mark for the blind and weak-sighted has a different ornamental decoration;
c) the ornamental surface for a hidden pattern placed above the portrait's shoulder is printed in dark brown colour, the ornament has a different decoration which continuously follows the ornamental decoration in the portrait's arm; in the upper edge of the ornamental surface, the microtext "500 KORUN 'is missing;
(d) the colour band exceeding the right unprinted edge is printed in the right-hand side in brown grey, in the left-hand side on which the rose flower is placed, in red;
(e) the year of issue of the banknote is marked "1995";
(f) the rose flower in the background of the texts to the left of the portrait is printed in red, the shade of which is more saturated than the 1993 banknote; The red colour of the rose petals on the left and the right passes fluently into the brown colour, at the bottom of the flower into the light brown colour; rose petal lines are finer and their drawing is more pronounced;
g) the small raster background is finer, creates a different ornamental decoration and is printed in several shades of lighter brown in combination with grey-green;
(h) the large number "500" on the wide unprinted edge (hereinafter referred to as "coupon") is printed in dark brown colour, which is significantly more saturated at the bottom; a small grid in the area of digits creates a different ornamental decoration.
§ 4
(1) On the reverse of the 1995 banknote, the images and texts, with the exception of the marking of the banknote manufacturer and the author of the engraving transcript of the reverse page of the banknote are the same as in the 1993 model. They are printed using the same printing techniques as the 1993 banknote.
(2) The reverse side of the 1995 banknote differs from the reverse side of the 1993 banknote as follows:
(a) the portrait of a young woman is printed in brown, which passes smoothly on the left and on the right side into dark brown; the flower on the forehead of the portrait is printed in a combination of brown and ochre colour;
b) a large national character of the Czech Republic, the number "500" placed in the lower left corner of the print pattern and all the texts are printed in dark brown;
(c) the small background grid is finer, produces a different ornamental decor and is printed in several shades of brown in combination with green grey and ochre;
(d) the "FIVE SET KORUN" microtext is hidden on a denser brown belt at the right unprinted edge; the microtext font is alternately negative and positive after rows;
(e) the underprint at the top and bottom of the banknote is lighter and continuously follows the main print pattern;
(f) the name of the printing works which have produced the banknote shall be "THE STATE PRESCRIBILITY PRAHA" and shall be placed at the bottom of the banknote in the middle; at the bottom edge of the banknote on the right is printed the name of the author of the engraving transcription of the main motif of the reverse side "M. ONDRÁČEK SC.";
(g) the inscription "Counterfeiting BANKNOTES TO BE PRESSURE BY LAW" shall be printed in smaller characters;
(h) the area of the digits of the number "500" situated in the lower left corner of the print pattern is bright, without a small grid;
(i) the digits of the large number "500" on the coupon are printed in dark brown colour, the area of the digits is lighter in the upper part than in the lower part and the small grid in the surface creates a different ornamental decoration;
j) at the bottom of the coupon, a graphic symbol in the form of a stylized rose is printed in dark green.
§ 5
This Decree shall take effect on 15 December 1995.
