DECLARATION
of 25 September 2015
on the issue of the commemorative silver five hundred crowns for the 250th anniversary of the birth of Václav Tham
The Czech National Bank provides pursuant to § 22 (a) of Act No. 6 / 1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, as amended by Act No. 442 / 2000 Coll.:
§ 1
(1) On 21 October 2015, the 250th anniversary of the birth of Václav Tham is issued a commemorative silver coin of 500 CZK (hereinafter referred to as the "five hundred crowns").
(2) Five hundred koruna is issued in the normal version and in a special version with polished field of coin and matte relief (hereinafter referred to as "special version").
(3) Five hundred crowns in normal and special design are rolled from an alloy containing 925 parts of silver and 75 parts of copper. The weight of the 500 koruna is 25 g, its diameter is 40 mm and its strength is 2.85 mm. In the case of embossing of five hundred crowns in normal and special design, the tolerance shall be 0,1 mm in diameter and 0,15 mm in thickness. In mass the tolerance is up to 0,50 g and in silver content the tolerance is up to 1%. The edge of the five hundred crown in normal design is serrated, the edge of the five hundred crown in special design is smooth with the feature "CZECH NATIONAL BANKA * Ag 0.925 * 25 g *."
§ 2
(1) A group of people representing the audience is shown in the foreground on the front of the five hundred crown. The fragment of the character with the Czech lion connects this diverse group of people and thus symbolizes their patriotism. To the left of the group is the denomination of the coin "500" and under it the abbreviation "CZK." The wooden theatre Bouda is shown on the top left. At the lower left edge of the five hundred crown, the name of the state is "CZECH REPUBLIC." The brand of the Czech Mint consisting of the composition of the letters "No" and "M" is on the edge of the coin to the right of the group of people.
(2) On the reverse side of the five hundred crown is a three-quarter rear view of Václav Tham looking in the mirror in which the male face is displayed. At the lower edge of the five hundred crown is the text "VÁCLAV THAM" and at the right edge are the years "1765" and "2015" separated by a dot. In the area of the shoulder near the portrait are the initials of the author of the five hundred crowns of the academic sculptor Michal Vitanovsky, which are composed of joined letters "MV."
(3) The image of the five hundred crowns is given in the annex to this decree.
§ 3
This Decree shall take effect on 21 October 2015.
