Communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the negotiation of Appendix 1 to the Payment Agreement between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that Appendix 1 to the Payment Agreement between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic was signed in Prague on 20 May 1993.
The Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic gave its consent to Appendix 1 and the President of the Republic ratified it.
Appendix 1 entered into force on 9 September 1993 on the basis of Article III thereof.
Czech version Appendix 1 shall be announced simultaneously.
APPENDIX 1
on the Payment Agreement between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic
In accordance with Article 9 of the Payment Agreement between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic have agreed to conclude Appendix 1.
The payment agreement between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic of 4 February 1993 is amended and supplemented as follows:
Article 2 shall read as follows:
"Payments for supplies of goods and services purchased by an entity of one of the Contracting Parties in a third country and sold without subsequent modification and change of the own quality of the goods and services supplied to the entity of the other Party, and payments for supplies of goods and services purchased by an entity of one Contracting Party from the entity of the other Party and sold without subsequent modification and change of the own quality of the goods and services to a third country shall be made in freely convertible currencies, unless otherwise stipulated in another agreement to which both Contracting Parties are bound. ';
Appendix 1 becomes an integral part of the Payment Agreement.
Appendix 1 shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of diplomatic notes confirming its approval in accordance with the constitutional procedure of the competent State.
Dane in Prague on 20 May 1993 in two copies in Czech and Slovak, both texts being equally authentic.
