THE LAW
of 27 April 1992
on police universities and establishing a Police Academy
The Federal Assembly of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic decided on this law:
Police universities
(1) The Police College is a university within the competence of the Federal Ministry of Interior or the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic or the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter the "competent Ministry of Interior").
(2) Higher education in the field of security services1) takes place in police universities.
Police universities are subject to the Act on Higher Education, (2) unless otherwise provided for in that Act.
(1) A Police College under the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Interior is established, merged, divided and repealed by the Federal Assembly; its name and registered office shall be established in the same way.
(2) The Police College of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic is established, merged, divided and repealed by the Act of the Czech National Council, the Police College of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic is established, merged, divided and repealed by the Law of the Slovak National Council; their name and registered office shall be determined in the same way.
(1) The College of Police Universities establishes, allocates, distributes, repeals and sets its name and registered office by the Academic Chamber of Police Universities, with the agreement of the competent Ministry of the Interior of which the Police College is responsible.
(2) The Dean of the Faculty of Police High School appoints from their professors and teachers, on a proposal from the Academic Chamber of the Faculty, and likewise removes from office, the Minister, who heads the competent Ministry of Interior, under the responsibility of the Police College.
(3) The number of staff of the Police College and of the staff of its faculties shall be determined, on a proposal from the Academic Chamber of that Police College, by the Minister who shall be the head of the competent Ministry of the Interior under the responsibility of the Police College.
The Police College carries out a comprehensive part of the higher education, after which it issues a diploma or grants the title "Bachelor '(in short" Bc') .2a)
(1) The competent Ministry of the Interior of the Police College, in the field of security services, exercises the competence of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic or of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Slovak Republic, with the exception of the publication of legislation implementing the Act on Higher Education.
(2) The Statute of the Police College registers (3) the competent Ministry of the Interior, which is responsible for the Police College after consulting the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, if the Police College has its seat in the Czech Republic, or the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Slovak Republic, if the Police College has its seat in the Slovak Republic.
(3) The competence of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic or of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport of the Slovak Republic under the Law on Higher Education is exercised in relation to police higher education schools by the Minister who heads the competent Ministry of Interior, whose jurisdiction is the Police College.
The competence of the accreditation committee, 4) the Council of Higher Education Institutions, the delegation of representatives to the Council of Higher Education 5) and the scope of legislation issued for the implementation of the Law on Higher Education 6) is governed by the seat of the Police College and its faculty in relation to the Police College and its faculty.
Police Academy
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
