on the establishment of a University of Political and Economic Sciences in Prague.
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
Since the beginning of the study year 1949 / 50, a university of political and economic sciences has been established in Prague.
(1) The University of Political and Economic Sciences in Prague has three faculties: economic, political and social teaching.
(2) It is entitled to award academic degrees.
(3) Its Statute will be issued by the Minister for Education, Science and Art by decree.
(4) The study and test plans are set out, as well as the study and test rules, by the Minister for Education, Science and Arts in agreement with the ministers involved.
The University of Political and Social in Prague, the University of Economic Sciences (University of Business) in Prague and the University of Social in Brno are cancelled gradually from the beginning of the study year 1949 / 50 starting with the first year.
(1) The Government may transfer the professors of higher education referred to in § 3 to other higher education institutions (faculties) or transfer them to another branch of public administration.
(2) The Minister of Education, Science and Arts may combine or organise the academic institutes of universities referred to in Section 3.
The Minister of Education, Science and Art will take measures to enable the former university listeners, which are cancelled under this Act, to complete the studies they started, but not later than the end of the 1952 / 53 study year, or to transfer to other universities (faculties).
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication; It shall be carried out by the Minister for Education, Science and Art in agreement with the Minister for Finance.
