COMMUNICATION
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that an Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related issues between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, of the one part, and the European Economic Community and the European Coal and Steel Community, of the other part, was signed in Brussels on 16 December 1991, which was amended by exchange letters of 15 December 1992.
The Interim Agreement for the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic entered into force on 1 March 1992 pursuant to Article 49 thereof.
On 21 December 1993 the following were signed in Brussels:
The Additional Protocol between the Czech Republic, of the one part, and the European Community and the European Coal and Steel Community, of the other part, to the Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, of the one part, and the European Economic Community and the European Coal and Steel Community, of the other part,
negotiating the legal succession of the Czech Republic on 1 January 1993 for the rights and obligations of the former Czech and Slovak Federal Republic under the Interim Agreement and establishing a separate contractual regime between the Czech Republic and the European Community; and
Additional Protocol between the Czech Republic and the Community to the Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, of the one part, and the European Economic Community and the European Coal and Steel Community, of the other part,
amending and supplementing the Interim Agreement and its Annexes.
The Additional Protocol entered into force on 21 December 1993 pursuant to Article 10 thereof. The amendments referred to in Article 3 of this Protocol have taken effect in accordance with the text of Article 8 thereof on 1 January 1994.
The Additional Protocol was provisionally implemented on the basis of Article 8, with the exception of Article 6, from 1 July 1993 and entered into force on 1 January 1994.
The Czech version of the Interim Agreement, Additional and Additional Protocol can be consulted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
