Order of the Minister of Justice
of 11 May 1954
determining the headquarters and the districts of the People's Courts, and the offices and districts of the Regional Courts.
The Minister of Justice hereby orders pursuant to § 14 of Act No. 66 / 1952 Coll., on the organisation of courts:
By way of derogation from the principle that the headquarters and the districts of the People's Courts coincide with those of the District National Committees or national committees assimilated to them,
1. the seat of the People's Court is established
(a) in the Záslav district district district of Prague-South;
(b) in Železné Broda for the territorial district of the District National Committee in Semily;
(d) in Náměště nad Záslavou for the territorial district of the District National Committee in Great Bíteš;
(e) in the Strážnice for the Territorial District of the District National Committee in Vesel nad Moravou;
2. is established
(a) a People's Court with exclusive jurisdiction in criminal matters (the "People's Criminal Court") in Prague with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of all the District National Committees in Prague; the People's Court of Prague-North, based in Prague and with jurisdiction for the District National Committee for Prague-North, the People's Court of the District National Committee for Prague-East, the People's Court of Prague-West with jurisdiction for the District National Committee for Prague-West,
(b) a People's Court with exclusive jurisdiction in civil matters ("the Civil People's Court") in Prague with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of all the District National Committees in Prague;
c) People's court in České Budějovice with jurisdiction for the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in České Budějovice and the District National Committee in České Budějovice;
(d) a folk court in Pilsen with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Pilsen and the district national committee in Pilsen;
(e) a People's Court in Karlovy Vary with jurisdiction over the territorial district of the Municipal National Committee in Karlovy Vary;
(f) a People's Court in Ústí nad Labem with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Ústí nad Labem and the District National Committee in Ústí nad Labem;
(g) the Liberec People's Court with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Liberec and the district national committee in Liberec;
h) a folk court in Hradec Kralove with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Hradec Kralove and the county national committee in Hradec Kralove;
(ch) a People's Court in Pardubice with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Pardubice and the District National Committee in Pardubice;
(i) a folk court in Jihlava with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Jihlava and the county national committee in Jihlava;
(j) a People's Court of Criminal Procedure in Brno with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Brno and the District National Committee in Brno;
(k) a civil court in Brno with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Brno;
(l) a People's Court in Olomouc with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Olomouc and the District National Committee in Olomouc;
(m) a People's Court in Gottwald with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Gottwald and the District National Committee in Gottwald;
n) People's Court of Criminal in Ostrava with jurisdiction for the territorial district of the municipal national committee in Ostrava and the territorial district of Ostrava;
o) People's court in Ostrava with jurisdiction for the territorial district of the municipal national committee in Ostrava and the territorial district of Ostrava;
(p) a People's Court in Bratislava with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of all the District National Committees in Bratislava;
(q) a People's Court in Dunai Streda with jurisdiction over the District District of the National Committee in Dunai Streda and a People's Court in Chalov with jurisdiction over the District District of the National Committee in Chalov;
(r) the Trnava People's Court of the District of the District of the National Committee of Trnava and the Sered People's Court of the District of the District of the National Committee of the Sered;
(s) a People's Court in Nitra with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the City National Committee in Nitra and the District National Committee in Nitra;
(t) a People's Court in Nové Zámce with jurisdiction over the territorial district of the District National Committee in Nové Šámce;
(u) a People's Court in Banská Bystrica with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Banská Bystrica and the District National Committee in Banská Bystrica;
(v) a People's Court in Žilina with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Žilina and the District National Committee in Žilina;
(w) a People's Court in Košice with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Municipal National Committee in Košice and the District National Committee in Košice;
(x) a People's Court in Poprad with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the District National Committee in Poprad and the City National Committee in the High Tatras;
(y) a People's Court in Prešov with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the municipal national committee in Prešov and the county national committee in Prešov;
(z) the Humenné People's Court with jurisdiction for the District of the District National Committee in Humenné, the People's Court in Snina with jurisdiction for the District of the District National Committee in Snina.
By way of derogation from the principle that the headquarters and the districts of the Regional Courts are identical to those of the Regional National Committees or National Committees assimilated to them,
1. is defined for the territorial district of the Regional National Committee in Gottwald, the seat of the Regional Court in Uherské Hradiště;
2. is established
(a) a regional court in Prague with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Central National Committee in Prague and the Regional National Committee in Prague;
(b) the Bratislava Regional Court with jurisdiction over the territorial districts of the Central National Committee in Bratislava and the Regional National Committee in Bratislava.
The territorial organisation of all the People's and Regional Courts is evident from the Annex to this Regulation.
The Order of the Minister for Justice is repealed
1. No 11 / 1949 Coll., determining the seat of the Regional Courts and the offices and districts of the District Courts,
2. no. 50 / 1949 Coll., setting out the premises and districts of the District Courts in Dobríš and Záslav,
3. No 13 / 1950 Coll., setting out the premises and districts of the District Courts in Sečovice and Trebišov,
4. no. 193 / 1950 Coll., setting out the headquarters and districts of the district courts in Fiľakov and Poltar,
5. no. 23 / 1951 Coll., setting out the seat of the District Court in New Town nad Metuji,
6. No 104 / 1953 Coll., setting out the premises and districts of the People's Courts in Galanta and Senci.
This Regulation shall enter into force on 17 May 1954.
