on the provisional application of the Protocol of 24 March 1948 on corrections to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade referred to in the provisional application of the Government Decree of 8 April 1948, No 59 Coll.
Under Article 1 of the Act of 4 July 1923, No 158 Coll., on the provisional treatment of trade relations with foreign countries, and Article VII of the Law of 22 June 1926, No 109 Coll., which partially amends the Customs Tariff Act for the Czechoslovak customs territory and the Customs Tariff and issues provisions on trade relations with foreign countries, I declare:
According to the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic Resolution of 29 June 1948 and with the agreement of the President of the Republic, the Protocol of 24 March 1948 on corrections to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade referred to in the Provisional Decree of 8 April 1948, No. 59 Coll.
In the Annex to this Decree of the Government, the text of the Protocol shall be published in the original version of the English and French and in the Czech translation, insofar as it relates to the annexes to Decree No. 59 / 1948 Coll. *)

on corrections to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. *)
Governments of the States of Australia, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of French, Canada, the Republic of Cuba, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America, acting in their respective characteristics of the Parties to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade; and
THE GOVERNMENTS of the United States of Brazil, Burma, Ceylon, the Republic of Czechoslovakia, the Republic of China, the Republic of Chile, India, South Africa, Lebanon, the Kingdom of Norway, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Rhodesia and Syria, acting in their capacity as signatories to the Final Act adopted at the end of the second meeting of the Preparatory Committee of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Employment, which verified the text of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade,
NOTING that certain corrections should be made in the original version of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, and in the Annexes and Documents forming part of the said Agreement,

1. This correction will be made in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade:
In the French text of Article XX, last paragraph, the date is to be correctly stated: "le 1er janvier 1951 au plus tard."
2. The following corrections will be made in the Annexes and Documents forming part of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade:
Annex B.
List of the territories of the French Union referred to in paragraph 2b of Article I.
Footnote in the Annex B is supposed to sound right:
"For import into the territory of France and the territory of the French Union."

The first item is to be correctly read:
"Coconut and similar edible alien nuts, including groundnuts and pecans'.
3. The provisions of this Protocol, starting today, will form an integral part of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade of 30 October 1947, and the corrections contained therein will be valid as if they formed part of the said Agreement on that date.
4. The original of this Protocol shall be deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who shall be entitled to register it.
THE REPRESENTATIVES IN THE WORLD, duly authorised, have signed this Protocol.
DONE in Havana, in a single copy, in English and French, in which, unless otherwise specified, the two texts are authentic, on the 24th of March 1948.

*) It is noted that the corrections to the English and French texts and the Czech translation of the framework part of the General Agreement, its Annex B and its English version and the Czech translation of the Czechoslovak Charter of Customs concessions X have already been made directly as amended by the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, published in the Annex to Decree No 59 / 1948 Coll. The text of the corrections of those parts of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade which were not published in the Annex to Decree-Law No 59 / 1948 Coll., i.e. the corrigendum of the English and French versions of the I-IX and XI-XX and the French versions of the X-form, is contained in the original version of the English and French Protocol on Corrections issued by the United Nations and published in Lake Succes, New York. These repairs will also be taken into account when the Czech translations of the I- IX and XI-XX documents are published by the State Printer in Prague.
