DECLARATION
of 23 June 2025
on the procedure for the selection of a professional candidate for the service of an occupational soldier
The Ministry of Defence provides, pursuant to § 4 (6) of Act No. 221 / 1999 Coll., on professional soldiers, as amended by Act No. 99 / 2025 Coll.:
(1) After the start of the selection, the service authority shall verify in the military record the details of the citizen seeking employment.
(2) Furthermore, the service authority shall require from the tenderer documents to verify data which are not the content of military records, in particular evidence of qualifications, knowledge of foreign languages, specific skills.
(1) The selection shall assess the applicant's competence for the performance of the service of the professional soldier, in particular the qualifications achieved, specific skills, physical fitness and fitness. The applicant's medical fitness shall be assessed in accordance with the legislation on medical fitness for military active services1).
(2) After evaluating all data on the applicant's eligibility, the service body shall assess whether his profession is in line with the need to ensure the defence of the Czech Republic. An interview shall be held with an appropriate candidate who complies with the conditions of the profession for the intended service classification and any additional requirements for such service classification.
(3) According to the results of the interview, the selection shall be completed by notifying the decision on the profession to the service or by informing the candidate in writing that it has not been selected or that the selection of the data is continued for the possibility of another assignment.
Repeal
They shall be deleted:
1. Decree No. 454 / 2002 Coll., laying down documents for the selection, selection procedure and model of the personal questionnaire of the applicant for the profession to the service of the professional soldier.
2. Decree No. 413 / 2009 Coll., amending Decree No. 454 / 2002 Coll., laying down documents for the selection, selection procedure and model of the personal questionnaire of the professional applicant for the service of an occupational soldier.
3. Decree No. 240 / 2018 Coll., amending Decree No. 454 / 2002 Coll., laying down documents for the selection, selection procedure and model of personal questionnaire of the applicant for the profession to the service of the professional soldier, as amended by Decree No. 413 / 2009 Coll.
4. Decree No. 189 / 2024 Coll., amending Decree No. 454 / 2002 Coll., laying down documents for the selection, selection procedure and model of the personal questionnaire of the applicant for the profession to the service of the professional soldier, as amended.
Efficacy
This Decree shall take effect on 1 July 2025.
