LEGAL MEASURES
Bureau of the National Assembly
of 9 March 1967
concerning the elections of the People's Control Committees
The Bureau of the National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has decided pursuant to Article 60 (2) of the Constitution on the following legal measure:
§ 1
The Central Commission of People's Control shall be elected and the number of its members shall be determined by the National Assembly.
The President of the Central Commission for People's Control shall be appointed from among the elected members of the President of the Republic.
Two Vice-Presidents of the Central Commission for Human Control shall elect the Central Commission for Human Control from among its members.
§ 2
The Commission of People's Control of the Slovak National Council is elected by the Slovak National Council. Its composition and election is regulated by the Slovak National Council by law.
§ 3
(1) The Regional, Urban, District, District and Local Commission of People's Control shall elect and the number of its members shall be determined by:
Regional National Committee, if it is the Regional Commission of People's Control,
The National Committee of the City of Prague, the City National Committee in Bratislava, Brno, Ostrava and Pilsen, if it is the Municipal Commission of People's Control,
Regional National Committee, if it is the Regional Commission of People's Control,
the District National Committee in Prague, if it is the District Commission of People's Control,
local (urban) national committee, if it is the local popular control committee.
(2) The National Committee also elects the Chairman and Vice-President of the Commission for People's Control.
§ 4
The Race Commission of People's Control is elected by the member meeting (conference) of the basic organization of the Revolutionary Trade Union Movement. The President, or the Vice-President, shall be elected by the race committee of popular controls from among its members.
§ 5
Members of the popular control committees shall be elected for the election period of the body which elected them, members of the folk control racing committees for a period of two years. They shall remain in their positions even after the end of their term of office until the newly elected members take up their duties.
§ 6
The elected members of the People's Control Commission shall take the oath in the hands of the President of the institution which elected them.
§ 7
(1) The provisions of the previous paragraphs also apply to the supplementary elections of the members of the popular control committees.
(2) The appeal of a member of the People's Control Commission shall be decided by the authority which elected him.
§ 8
(1) Paragraph 2 (2), § 7 (2), § 8 (2) and (3), § 9 (2), § 10 (2), § 11, § 12 (4) and (5), § 13 (2) to (5), § 19 to 22, § 23 (2), § 24 (2) to (4) and § 26 (2) of Act No 23 / 1963 Coll., on People's Control and on National Economic Records, as amended by Act No 93 / 1964 Coll.
(2) Paragraph 23 (1) of Act No 23 / 1963 Coll. does not apply to members of the folk control racing committees.
§ 9
This legal measure shall take effect on the date of its publication.
