THE LAW
of 31 July 1997
on providing financial assistance to victims of crime and amending and supplementing certain laws
Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:
AMENDMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF CERTAIN LAWS
Act No. 141 / 1961 Coll., on Criminal Procedure of the Court (Criminal Code), as amended by Act No. 57 / 1965 Coll., Act No. 58 / 1969 Coll., Act No. 149 / 1969 Coll., Act No. 48 / 1973 Coll., Act No. 29 / 1978 Coll., Act No. 43 / 1980 Coll., Act No. 159 / 1989 Coll., Act No. 178 / 1990 Coll., Act No. 303 / 1990 Coll., Act No. 558 / 1991 Coll., Act No. 25 / 1993 Coll., Act No. 115 / 1993 Coll., Act No. 292 / 1993 Coll., Act No. 154., Act No. 154., Act No. 154.
1. In Paragraph 312, the dot at the end of the sentence is replaced by a comma and the following words are added: "and the sums of the State committed to help victims of crime in cash."
2. In Paragraph 312, the present text becomes paragraph 1 and the following paragraph 2 is added:
"(2) The defendant must designate at least 50% of the State for financial assistance to victims of crime provided under a special law. '

In Article 11 (2), the dot at the end of the paragraph is replaced by a comma and the following point (k) is added:
"(k) the appellant in proceedings for the provision of financial assistance to victims of crime."

In Article 4 (1) (h), the following shall be inserted after the words "State aid, 44) ':" financial assistance to victims of crime under a special law, 44a)'.
Note 44a:
"44a) Act No. 209 / 1997 Coll., on providing financial assistance to victims of crime and amending and supplementing certain laws."
FINAL PROVISIONS
This Act shall take effect on 1 January 1998.
