Slovak National Council
of 28 December 1968
establishing ministries and other central bodies of the Slovak Socialist Republic
The Slovak National Council decided on this law:
Ministry of the Slovak Socialist Republic
(1) The following ministries of the Slovak Socialist Republic are hereby established:
Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Industry of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Agriculture and Nutrition of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Construction and Technology of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Commerce of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Construction of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Forestry and Water Management of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Health of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Education of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The Ministry of the Slovak Socialist Republic is in charge and the Minister is responsible for its activities.
(1) A Slovak Planning Commission is hereby established as the central body of the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic for national economic planning and development of the system of planned management of the national economy.
(2) The Slovak Planning Commission consists of the Chairman of the Slovak Planning Commission, the Vice-President of the Slovak Socialist Republic, the Vice-President of the Slovak Planning Commission and other members. The President of the Slovak Planning Commission shall be appointed and removed by the Bureau of the Slovak National Council. The Vice-President and other members shall be appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Socialist Republic of Slovakia.
(3) The work of the Slovak Planning Commission and its apparatus is managed by the Chairman of the Slovak Planning Commission. It is represented by the Vice-President of the Slovak Planning Commission.
(4) The rights and obligations of the former Ministry of Planning of the Slovak Socialist Republic, in particular from employment relations, are transferred to the Slovak Planning Commission.
(1) The Committee of People's Control of the Slovak Socialist Republic is hereby established as the central authority of the Slovak Socialist Republic on the control section.
(2) The Chairman of the Committee of People's Control of the Slovak Socialist Republic is a member of the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
(5) The Committee of People's Control of the Slovak Socialist Republic is responsible for reviewing the decisions of the People's Audit Committees of the National Committees issued by the date of application of this Act.
(6) The rights and obligations of the former Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Socialist Republic, in particular from employment relations, are transferred to the Committee of People's Inspections of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Other Central Authorities of the Slovak Socialist Republic
Slovak Statistical Office
(1) The Slovak Statistical Office is hereby established.
Slovak Price Office
(1) The Slovak Price Office is hereby established.
(2) Head of the Slovak Price Office is the President, appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic. The President of the Slovak Price Office shall be responsible for the performance of his duties as Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Slovak Office of Geodesy and Cartography
The Slovak Geodesy and Cartography Office is hereby established.
Slovak Geological Authority
(1) The Slovak Geological Authority is hereby established.
(2) The head of the Slovak Geological Office is the Director, appointed and withdrawn by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic on a proposal from the Minister of Construction and Technology of the Slovak Socialist Republic. The Director of the Slovak Geological Office is responsible for the performance of his duties as Minister of Construction and Technology of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Slovenský bánský úře
(1) The Slovak Mining Office is hereby established.
(2) The head of the Slovak Mining Office is the President, appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic. The President of the Slovak Mining Office shall be responsible for his duties to the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Slovak Press and Information Office
(1) The Slovak Press and Information Office is hereby established.
(2) The head of the Slovak Press and Information Office is the Director, appointed and withdrawn by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic on a proposal from the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Socialist Republic. The Director of the Slovak Press and Information Office shall be responsible for the performance of his duties as Minister of Culture of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Slovak Labour Safety Authority
(1) The Slovak Labour Safety Authority is hereby established.
(2) The Head of the Slovak Labour Security Office is the Director, who, on a proposal from the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Slovak Socialist Republic, is appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic. The Director of the Slovak Labour Safety Authority is responsible for the performance of his duties as Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
Slovak Science Commission
(1) A Slovak Science Commission is hereby established.
(2) The head of the Slovak Science Commission is the President, appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic. The President shall be responsible for the performance of his duties as Government of the Socialist Republic of Slovakia.
Transitional and final provisions
The Ministry and other central government bodies of the Slovak Socialist Republic shall, pending the new legal regulation, exercise their powers under the existing laws to the extent resulting from the Constitutional Act on the Czechoslovak Federation.
(1) The existing Regional Directorates of Czechoslovak Television, the Regional Directorates of Czechoslovak Radio, the Regional Directorates of Czechoslovak Film and the Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia, operate as authorities of the Slovak Socialist Republic until further legal regulation according to existing legislation.
(2) The Regional Director of Czechoslovak Television, Czechoslovak Radio, Czechoslovak Film and the Director of the Czechoslovak Press Office in Slovakia is appointed and recalled by the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic on a proposal from the Minister of Culture; the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Socialist Republic is responsible for the performance of his duties.
The following shall be deleted:
a) § 3 of Act No. 104 / 1963 Coll., on the Establishment and Jurisdiction of the Government Committee on Tourism,
b) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 9 / 1964 Coll., on the Committee of the Slovak National Council for Tourism,
(c) Act No. 93 / 1964 Coll., on the determination of the branches of state administration in which the delegates of the Slovak National Council operate and on the related changes in the organisation of certain central bodies as amended by § 15 of the statutory measure No. 1 / 1967 Coll. and § 3 of Act No. 29 / 1967 Coll.,
d) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 134 / 1965 Coll., on the Slovak Technical Commission,
e) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 50 / 1966 Coll., on the competence of the Slovak National Council in the management and organisation of universities in Slovakia,
f) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 74 / 1966 Coll., on the competence of the Slovak National Council and its bodies in the care of the health of the people,
(g) § 5 (3) and (4), § 8 (3), § 10 (1), second sentence and § 12 of Legislative Decree No. 1 / 1967 Coll., on changes in the organisation and competence of certain central authorities,
h) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 15 / 1967 Coll., on changes in the organisation and content of tasks of certain executive bodies of the Slovak National Council,
(ch) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 44 / 1967 Coll., on the organisation and content of the activities of the executive bodies of the Slovak National Council in the field of agriculture and nutrition,
(i) Act of the Slovak National Council No. 77 / 1967 Coll., on the Commission of the Slovak National Council for National Committees.
This Act shall take effect on 1 January 1969.
