President of the Republic

on the announcement of the results of the referendum on the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union on 13 June 2003 and 14 June 2003
Under Article 62 (l) of the Constitutional Act No. 1 / 1993 Coll., the Constitution of the Czech Republic, and under the Constitutional Act No. 515 / 2002 Coll., on the referendum on the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union and on the amendment of the Constitutional Act No. 1 / 1993 Coll., the Constitution of the Czech Republic, as amended by the Constitutional Act, and pursuant to § 38 (2) of Act No. 114 / 2003 Coll., on the implementation of the referendum on the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union and on the amendment of certain laws (Act on the implementation of the referendum),
declare
the following outcome of the referendum:
I.
The number of votes in the referendum on the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union was 4 457 206.
II.
The total number of votes "YES" was 3,446 758.
The total number of votes "NO" was 1,010 448.
III.
The accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union was approved in a referendum.
