The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
§ 1.
Paragraph 44 (1) of the Act of 16 April 1948, No 75 Coll., on elections to the National Assembly, is amended and read:
"(1) If the mandate is vacant, an alternate member of the same electoral group shall take up his seat in accordance with the order in which he was placed on the candidate list of the same electoral district in which a Member whose mandate has become vacant shall be elected. If a vacancy cannot be filled in this way, the replacement of the same electoral group shall take place in the order in which it was placed on the candidate list of another electoral region, gradually starting with the first electoral region in the same electoral area (§ 1); the provisions of the second sentence shall apply mutatis mutandis. ';
