on the updating of the Nomenclature of Territorial Statistical Units (CZ- NUTS)
The Czech Statistical Office, pursuant to § 19 (2) of Act No. 89 / 1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, as amended, communicates with effect from 1 January 2008 the introduction of an updated Classification of Territorial Statistical Units (hereinafter referred to as the "nomenclature of CZ- NUTS ').
The updated classification of CZK-NUTS is issued for statistical purposes. Its structure, codes and names of territorial units are the same as that set out in the Annex to Commission Regulation (EC) No 105 / 2007 of 1 February 2007 amending the Annexes to Regulation (EC) No 1059 / 2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the establishment of a common classification of territorial units for statistics (NUTS).
The updated nomenclature of CZK-NUTS includes alphanumeric codes and names of statistical territorial units created in the Czech Republic for statistical surveys. The updated nomenclature of CZK-NUTS is amended as from 1 January 2008 as follows:
- NUTS level 4 (counties) is deleted;
- the NUTS 3 code for two regions is amended:
- Vysočina - new CZ063 (place of current code CZ061),
- South Moravian Region - new CZ064 (place of current code CZ062).
The full updated nomenclature of CZK-NUTS is set out in the Annex to this Communication. Classification of CZK-NUTS will be available in electronic form in the Czech Statistical Office Information Services Department, Prague 10, 50th 81, and will also be published (including all related information) on the CSU website at www.czso.cz.
Regulation (EC) No 1059 / 2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States, including by updating its Annexes by Commission Regulations. Therefore, further updates of the nomenclature of CZK-NUTS will not be published in the Collection of Laws.
