Law on the establishment of the Protection Administration of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Castle Guard of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic

of 30 January 1990
on the establishment of the Protection Administration of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Castle Guard of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
The Federal Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on this law:
Tasks and status of the Castle Guard of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
§ 3
(1) The Castle Guard of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (hereinafter referred to as the "Castle Guard") is set aside from the armies of the Ministry of Interior and integrated into the Czechoslovak People's Army; obeying the Chief of Military Office of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The Chief of the Military Office of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has appointed and removed the Commander of the Castle Guard.
§ 4
(1) The Castle Guard shall carry out the following tasks:
a) carries out the external security of the Prague Castle, ensures its defence and provides external security and defence of the buildings which are the temporary residence of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and its guests,
b) Organises and provides military honours especially in official visits to representatives of other states and when accepting envoys from the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The Castle Guard must not be used to perform other tasks without the consent of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
§ 5
The Chief of the Military Office of the President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic is authorised against the soldiers of the Castle Guard as Minister of National Defence of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic established by special regulation.3)
§ 6
Repeal
The Statute of the Castle Guard of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, issued by order of the Minister of the Interior of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic No 13 / 1977 (reg. No. 14 / 1977 Coll.), is hereby repealed.
§ 7
This Act shall take effect on 1 February 1990.
