of 5 January 1963
establishing the State Price Committee
The Bureau of the National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has decided pursuant to Article 60 (2) of the Constitution on the following legal measure:
A State Price Committee is hereby established as a government body for central planning, pricing and control matters.
(1) The State Price Committee assists the government in implementing essential measures in the field of planning, pricing and control and directs the activities of central authorities in this section.
(2) In particular, the State Price Committee
(a) examine proposals for price-based policy measures submitted to the Government;
(b) submit proposals to the Government for price policy measures;
(c) evaluate the effects of the price system and the use of prices in the national economy management system, the organisation of planning, pricing and control at different stages of management;
(d) monitor, evaluate and guide the activities of central authorities on fundamental price issues and their cooperation with each other;
(e) guide price research, in particular on the planning and pricing sectors;
(f) monitor and discuss issues related to the results of cooperation and exchange of experience with other countries of the Socialist Camp in the price area;
(g) guide the education and improvement of the qualifications of price workers, the preparation of new cadres for this section;
(h) ensure that the principles of pricing, observance and participation of workers are widely promoted.
(1) The activities of the State Price Committee are managed by the President who is a member of the Government.
(2) The Government shall appoint members of the State Price Committee.
The tasks, powers and means of action and the organisation of the State Price Committee shall be defined in more detail by the Government, on a proposal from the President of the State Price Committee.
This legal measure shall take effect on the date of its publication.
