GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 7 June 2000
announcing the implementation of the forest inventory from 2001 to 2004
The Government orders pursuant to § 28 (2) of Act No. 289 / 1995 Coll., on Forests, and to amend and supplement certain laws (Forest Act):
§ 1
Purpose of forest inventory
(1) The inventory of forests (hereinafter referred to as "inventory") provides data on the actual state and development of forests in the Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as "data"), in particular in terms of forest functions as significant renewable natural resources and important environmental components.
(2) Inventarisation under this Regulation remains unaffected by the obligations on the inventory of assets and liabilities provided for by special legislation.1)
§ 2
Scope and method of inventory
(1) Inventarisation shall be carried out by physical examination of the data listed in the Annex to this Regulation on areas in territories with a basic size of 2 x 2 km, located on a regular network in all forests in the Czech Republic. Each area consists of two non-related parts of a circular shape with a radius of 12,62 m, the centres of which are 300 m apart
(2) The data on each area, identified by inventory, shall be processed on the basis of the individual data sets set out in the Annex to this Regulation and evaluated by county, county, natural forest area and Czech Republic level. The evaluation of the data found shall include a proposal to take measures to address the deficiencies identified and improve the real state of the forests.
§ 3
Inventory Organisation
(1) Inventarisation will be carried out by the Brandýs nad Labem Institute for the Economic Treatment of Forests (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") during the period from 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2004.
(2) The Ministry of Agriculture shall coordinate and monitor the implementation of the inventory. The Institute carries out an inventory in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.
§ 4
Efficacy
This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2001.
