Communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the negotiation of the Supplementary Agreement to the Central European Free Trade Agreement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that on 11 September 1995 the Supplementary Agreement to the Central European Free Trade Agreement was signed in Brno
The Parliament of the Czech Republic gave its assent to the Supplementary Agreement and the President of the Republic ratified it.
The Supplementary Agreement was provisionally implemented from the date of signature in accordance with the text of its Article 3 (3) and entered into force on 17 October 1996 pursuant to paragraph 1 of that Article.
The Czech translation of the Supplementary Agreement is announced simultaneously.
ADDITIONAL AGREEMENT
KE
CENTRAL EUROPEAN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT
the Czech Republic, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Poland and the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as the Parties),
bearing in mind the Declaration of Presidents, signed in Poznan on 25 November 1994,
reaffirming their commitment to the principles of the market economy that underpin their relations,
taking into account the positive development of mutual economic cooperation within the framework of the Central European Free Trade Agreement,
Desiring to contribute to the process of integration in Europe through the future enlargement of the Central European Free Trade Agreement,
in accordance with the provisions of Article 39 of the Central European Free Trade Agreement,
agree as follows:
Článek 1
The provisions of the Central European Free Trade Agreement shall be supplemented by Article 39a, as follows:
„Článek 39a
Access to the Agreement
1. Any European State may accede to this Agreement with the consent of all Parties.
(2) The time limits and conditions of access should be laid down in the Access Agreement concluded between all Parties, on the one hand, and the acceding State, on the other. "
Článek 2
This Agreement shall form an integral part of the Central European Free Trade Agreement.
Článek 3
1. This Agreement shall enter into force on the date on which the depositary receives the last notification of the Parties to the Central European Free Trade Agreement to terminate the procedures necessary for this purpose.
2. The depositary shall notify all Parties of the termination of the procedures necessary for the entry into force of this Agreement.
3. The Parties shall provisionally implement this Agreement from the date of its signature.
In order to prove this, the undersigned, having been duly authorised to do so, shall sign this Agreement.
Dane in Brno on 11 September 1995 in a single original in English, to be deposited with the Government of Poland. The depositary will send certified copies to all the Parties.
