on the adjustment of working time to ensure the smooth transport of workers and the supply of electricity, gas and heating steam.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic orders pursuant to § 41 paragraph 2 of Act No. 241 / 1948 Coll., on the first five-year Economic Plan for the Development of the Czechoslovak Republic (Act on the Five-Year Plan):
Where this is necessary to ensure the smooth transport of workers into employment or to ensure the supply of electricity, gas or heating steam, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare may, in agreement with the competent central authorities and with a single trade union decree in the official document, adjust the economic business within the limits of the statutory regulations on the length of working time in general or for individual economic sectors, in the case of the distribution of daily and weekly working hours.
Where provided for in the Decree referred to in Section 1, the Regional National Committees may require the persons responsible for running the plant to transfer regular working hours to other daily or night hours or to working days.
In cases where, as a result of the adjustment provided for in Sections 1 and 2, it is necessary to work temporarily at night, the Government may, after consultation with the Central Council of Trade Unions, authorise an exemption from the prohibition of the night work of women if, in the light of particularly serious circumstances, the interest of the State so requires. This exemption may only be allowed for a limited period.
The persons responsible for the management of the plant shall discuss the measures provided for in Sections 1 and 2 with the employees' representative and inform the employees of their content and importance.
Government Regulation No 79 / 1950 Coll., on the adjustment of working time to ensure the smooth supply of electricity, gas and heating steam, shall be repealed.
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication; they shall be carried out by the Minister for Labour and Social Welfare in agreement with participating members of the Government.
