DECLARATION
Czech Science Commission
of 17 May 1990
amending Decree No. 64 / 1977 Coll., on management in the award of scientific degrees
In agreement with the Slovak Commission for Scientific Aspects, the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, the Central Authorities of the State Administration which manages higher education institutions in the Czech Republic, and the State Commission for Scientific, Technical and Investment Development, pursuant to § 12 (3) of Act No. 53 / 1964 Coll., on the award of scientific degrees and on the State Commission for Scientific Aspects ("the Act '):
The decree of the Czech Commission for Scientific Aspects No. 64 / 1977 Coll., on the management of the award of scientific degrees, is amended as follows:
1. in Paragraph 3 (1), point (c) shall be deleted;
2. in Paragraph 5 (1), point (d) shall be deleted;
3. Paragraph 5 (3) is deleted.
4. in Article 6 (3):
"(3) Candidate and doctoral dissertation (hereinafter referred to as" dissertation ") is presented for defence in the Czech or Slovak language. Candidates may submit dissertation in one of the following languages, with the agreement of the Defence Commission: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish. '
5. in Article 9 (3):
"(3) Candidate examinations of candidates in separate scientific preparation shall consist of:
(a) expert examination;
(b) examinations from two world languages: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish. '
6. In Paragraph 9 (4), the last sentence reads: "However, the prior approval of the Dean of the Faculty or of the Rector of the College, which is not divided into faculties, is required for carrying out a professional examination."
7. Article 12 is deleted.
8. Paragraph 14 repeals paragraph 2.
9. In the first sentence of Paragraph 14 (4), the words' and the test of marxism-leninism 'are deleted.
10. In Paragraph 14 (5), the words "an examination of marxism-leninism and 'are deleted.
11. in Paragraph 15, paragraph 4 is deleted.
12. in Article 17 (4), the words "in Russian or, where appropriate, in another world language" shall be replaced by "in two world languages."
13. In the last sentence of Paragraph 18 (1), the words "Institute of Marxism-Leninism of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia" are deleted.
14. In the first sentence of Paragraph 21 (1), the reference to Section 12 shall be deleted.
15. In the first sentence of Paragraph 40 (2), the words "or the Institute of Marxism of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia" and the words "or the Institute of Marxism of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia" are deleted.
16. in Paragraph 41 (2), point (c) shall be deleted;
17. In Paragraph 42 (2), the word "socialist" is deleted in the first sentence and in the second sentence the word "socialist."
18. In Annex IIa, in point 4, the headings "Marxism- leninism test 'and" Russian language test' are deleted and the heading "Another world language test 'are replaced by the heading" Two world languages test'.
19. in Annex IIIa, point 6, point (d) shall be deleted; at the end of this Annex, the words "or the Director of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism of the Czech Republic 'shall be deleted from the signature.
20. In point 6 of Annex IIIb, the heading "Scientific Council of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism of the Czech Republic 'is deleted.
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
