The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that an Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on the visa waiver was signed in Nicosia on 23 June 1995.
The Agreement entered into force on 31 July 1995 pursuant to Article 11 thereof. The Agreement between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on the abolition of the visa requirement for holders of diplomatic and service passports of 26 November 1991 expires on this date.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.
AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on the visa waiver
The Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus (hereinafter referred to as the "Contracting Parties') have agreed to conclude the following visa waiver agreement:
1. Citizens of the Czech Republic and citizens of the Republic of Cyprus holding valid travel documents listed in the Annex to this Agreement may enter the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party without a visa and stay there for no more than thirty (30) days from the date of entry.
2. Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party wishing to enter the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party for the purpose of long-term or permanent residence, studies, employment or other gainful activities, except in the case referred to in Article 2 of this Agreement, must obtain the necessary visas with the competent authorities of the beneficiary State before entering.
1. Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party - holders of valid diplomatic or service passports who are members of a diplomatic mission or consular post in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party may enter and stay there without visas during their secondment.
2. Family members living in the common household with the persons referred to in paragraph 1 may stay without a visa in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party for the duration of their secondment, provided that they themselves hold diplomatic or service passports.
Citizens of one Contracting Party may enter the territory of the other Contracting Party at border crossing points for international travel.
The Contracting Parties shall immediately inform each other by diplomatic means of any changes to the conditions for entry, stay or travel for citizens of the States of the Contracting Parties.
Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party shall comply with its laws and regulations when staying in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party.
This Agreement shall not restrict the right of each Contracting Party to refuse entry into, or residence in, the territory of its State to undesirable persons or citizens of a State of the other Contracting Party who could jeopardise the security or public policy of that State or who do not have sufficient funds or otherwise demonstrate the security of their residence in the territory of the beneficiary State.
The Contracting Parties undertake to recruit citizens of their State in their territory without further formalities.
Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party who lose their travel documents in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party may leave that State provided that they are equipped with a new travel document issued by a diplomatic mission or consular post of their State.
1. Any Contracting Party may, for reasons of safety, public policy, health protection or other serious reasons, suspend in whole or in part the application of this Agreement.
2. The introduction and the repeal of such measures shall be notified without delay by diplomatic channels to the other Contracting Party and shall take effect on the date of notification of such notification.
1. The Contracting Parties shall exchange, by diplomatic means, the models of the valid travel documents listed in the Annex to this Agreement no later than 15 (15) days after the date of signature of the Agreement. The Annex to this Agreement may be amended only with the agreement of both Parties.
2. In the event of a change in the valid or introduction of new travel documents, the Contracting Party shall send the new designs together with the information on the validity of such documents to the other Contracting Party by diplomatic means no later than 30 (30) days before their introduction.
This Agreement shall be negotiated for an indefinite period. It shall enter into force 30 (30) days after the date of exchange of notes in which the Contracting Parties notify each other that the national conditions for entry into force of this Agreement have been fulfilled.
This Agreement may be terminated in writing by diplomatic means by any Contracting Party and shall in such a case cease to be in force on the 90th (90) day following the date of receipt of the notice by the other Contracting Party.
Entry into force of this Agreement The Arrangement between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on the visa waiver for holders of diplomatic and service passports of 26 November 1991 for the Czech Republic and the Republic of Cyprus to the extent that it concerns citizens of both states.

ANNEX
to the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on the visa waiver
The following shall be valid travel documents for the purposes of this Agreement:
1. for citizens of the Czech Republic
(a) a diplomatic passport;
(b) a service passport;
(c) passport;
(d) a sailor's book;
(e) a travel licence;
2. for citizens of the Republic of Cyprus
(a) a diplomatic passport;
(b) a service passport;
(c) passport;
(d) passport.
