on the approval mark for telecommunications terminal and radio equipment
The Ministry of Transport and Communications provides, pursuant to § 11 (2) of Act No. 151 / 2000 Coll., on Telecommunications and on the amendment of other laws, hereinafter referred to as "the Act":
§ 1
Subject matter
This Decree provides for a graphical representation of the approval mark, its design and location on telecommunications terminal and radio equipment (hereinafter referred to as "devices') approved under Sections 5, 9 or 10 of the Act.
§ 2
Approval mark
The approval mark shall be used only to indicate the equipment which has been approved under § 5, § 9 or § 10 of the Act. The position of the approval mark on the device shall be provided by the natural or legal person mentioned in the approval decision.
§ 3
Graphic rendering of the approval mark
(1) The approval mark consists of a box inside with a small national character according to a special law, 1) the letters "ČTI" and other characters.
(2) The Annex shows the graphic representation of the approval mark, the dimensions of the approval mark and the meaning of the characters used.
§ 4
Dimensions and design of approval mark
The normal size of the approval mark may be reduced while maintaining the ratio of its sides, characters and letters used pursuant to § 3. In the case of devices which cannot be fitted with a minimum size approval mark for their size and shape, the Czech Telecommunications Authority (hereinafter referred to as "the Office ') sets the size even smaller in its approval decision.
§ 5
Means of position of approval mark
(1) In the case of portable devices, the approval mark shall be placed either on the bottom or rear of the device so that, when the device is turned or the power supply is removed, the whole mark is visible.
(2) In the case of non-portable devices, the approval mark shall be so placed as to be accessible without the use of the instrument.
(3) The approval mark shall be affixed:
(a) by pressing into the device housing; or
(b) by indelible printing of the device cover and its removable parts; or
(c) by incorporation into the manufacturer's label containing the full type designation of the equipment; or
(d) by means of a self-adhesive label or printing, which, in addition to the approval mark, contains the type-marking of the device. The label may also be in design with protective holographic elements.
(4) The self-adhesive label shall be so designed as to damage it at all times and to prevent the self-deburring of the label to the extent of the moisture and temperature values at which the device may be stored or operated according to the technical documentation. The label shall be so placed as to avoid mechanical damage during normal operation and maintenance.
(5) The approval mark referred to in paragraph 3 (b) and (c) shall be used on a bright ground if the manufacturer's label is not pressed into the device housing. If the cover is dark-coloured, a light font can be used on a dark background. The designation referred to in paragraph 3 (d) shall be made in black characters on a white background.
(6) In the case of devices of very small size which are supplied in primary packaging containing a certain quantity of pieces, the approval mark referred to in paragraph 3 (d) may be affixed to that packaging with the agreement of the Office.
(7) The approval mark shall also be placed on the front of the instructions supplied with the device.
§ 6
Repeal
Decree No. 26 / 1996 Coll., on the method, conditions and procedure for verifying and approving telecommunications terminal equipment, is hereby repealed.
§ 7
Efficacy
This Decree shall take effect on 1 July 2000.

Large letter height (without diacritics) = 0,17 approval mark height
2.2. Bottom row - semi-rigid font,
Large letter height = 0,19 approval mark height, text centered against the top
C. Meaning of the characters used
1st aaaa - year of decision
2. b - one digit indicating the year of expiry of the approval decision (range 0 to 9 years from the year of issue) or the letter "N" indicating validity until further notice
3. c - one large base letter or combination of three large letters with the following meaning:
3.1. Use of a single point
T - terminal equipment (§ 4 (1) (a) of the Act)
R - radio equipment (§ 4 (1) (b) of the Act)
S - radio equipment for satellite broadcasting and reception (§ 4 (1) (b) of the Act)
3.2. Use of additional letters after the letters referred to in point 3.1.
RT- radio equipment connected to the public telecommunications network as terminal equipment
TR - terminal equipment with an integral part of radio equipment
RC - CEPT civil radio stations
OP - decision issued for verification operations (Section 10 (3) of the Act) [example: ROP]
X - Decisions with special conditions and limited use, individual decisions (§ 9 and § 10 (2) of the Act) [example: TX].
4. Dddd - 3 or 4 digits indicating the registration number of the approval decision
1) Paragraph 3 (1) and Annex 2 to Act No. 3 / 1993 Coll., on State Symbols of the Czech Republic.
