on the International Convention on Telecommunications negotiated in Atlantic City on 2 October 1947.
The International Convention on Telecommunications was negotiated in Atlantic City on 2 October 1947, which repeals and replaces the International Convention on Telecommunications in Madrid on 9 December 1932 and published under No 23 of the 1934 Law Collection in relations between Contracting Governments.
The International Convention on Telecommunications of 2 October 1947 was ratified on 28 July 1948 by the President of the Republic and the instrument of ratification was deposited on 24 August 1948 by the Swiss Government with the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunications Union in Geneva. It shall take effect on 1 January 1949 pursuant to Article 49 between the countries for which instruments of ratification or accession to the Convention will be deposited before that date.
In addition to Czechoslovakia, the following other countries have so far ratified the Convention: Denmark, Iceland, Canada, Lebanon, Monaco, New Zealand and Samoa, and the United States of America.
The Czech translation of this Convention was published as a separate part in the amount of 37 Bulletin of the Ministry of Posts of 1948.
