concerning the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Guinea
On 30 November 1959 the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Republic of Guinea was negotiated in Prague.
The agreement was approved by the Government on 22 June 1960. The approval of the Agreement by the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was notified by a note of 18 July 1960 and its approval by the Government of the Republic of Guinea by a note of 14 September 1960.
Pursuant to Article 11 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 14 September 1960.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Republic of Guinea
Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and
Government of the Republic of Guinea
Desiring to deepen understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries and seeking to develop cooperation in the field of science, education and culture, they have decided to conclude this Agreement and have appointed their agents to this end:

who have exchanged their powers of attorney and found them in perfect order and proper form have agreed as follows:
Both Parties will promote cultural contacts between the two countries by organising musical and theatrical performances, lectures, artistic and scientific exhibitions, exchanging experience in education, scientific research and health.
The Parties shall promote the development of cooperation between scientific, cultural, educational and medical organisations and institutions and shall facilitate mutual visits by university professors, teachers of vocational schools and members of the above-mentioned organisations and institutions.
The two Contracting Parties shall grant scholarships and other advantages to members of the other Contracting Party to study at their higher, artistic and professional schools.
The Parties shall consider the issue of mutual recognition of diplomas and scientific degrees and, if deemed necessary, agree a specific agreement to that effect.
The Parties shall promote the mutual exchange of sport delegations and the organisation of mutual sporting competitions and matches.
Both Parties will facilitate the exchange of books, scientific, cultural and artistic publications, cinema and television films and support the organisation of film performances.
Both Contracting Parties shall ensure that the cultural, historical, geographical and other manuals used in their educational institutes contain such data as to enable them to create a proper picture of the country of the other Contracting Party.
The two Contracting Parties will allow translations of significant scientific, cultural and artistic works by members of the other Contracting Party.
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the area of press and radio.
(1) For the implementation of this Agreement, a cultural cooperation plan will be negotiated annually setting out the principles and conditions governing the implementation of cultural actions.
(2) In order to discuss these annual plans, both Parties shall appoint representatives by diplomatic means (who shall negotiate them by the end of the current year).
(1) This Agreement shall be subject to approval under the constitutional requirements of each of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes on such approval.
(2) Each Contracting Party may terminate the Agreement in writing six months in advance.
This Agreement was drawn up in Prague on 30 November 1959 in two copies, each in the Czech and French languages, each having the same validity.
