concerning the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federative Republic of Cameroon
On 20 April 1964, the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federative Republic of Cameroon was signed in Paris.
The Agreement entered into force on the date of signature on the basis of Article 8 thereof, i.e. on 20 April 1964.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federative Republic of Cameroon
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Federal Republic of Cameroon
Desiring to develop cooperation between both states in education, culture and sport,
convinced that this cooperation will contribute to the consolidation of friendly relations between the peoples of both states,
have decided to conclude this Agreement and to this end have appointed their agents:
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
Mr Václav Pleskot,
Government of the Federal Republic of Cameroon
Mr Beb and Don,
who, having exchanged their powers of attorney, found them in perfect order and proper form, agreed as follows:
The Parties shall, on the basis of mutual friendship and understanding and respecting the principles of sovereignty, non-interference and equality, promote cultural contacts between the two States and contribute to the mutual recognition of the cultural values of the peoples of the two States and the progress made in the fields of education, culture and sport.
In particular, the Parties shall support:
developing cooperation between schools, scientific and research institutes, educational and cultural associations and organisations;
exchange of information on education, science, culture and film and the organisation of lectures from these fields;
organisation of exhibitions, exchange of literary and artistic works, organisation of concerts, theatrical performances and sporting events, as well as visits to experts who deal with some of the fields referred to in this Article.
Each of the two Parties shall, as far as possible, allow the experts of the other Party to undertake research and study in schools, institutes, archives, libraries and museums of its country, in accordance with the statutes of those establishments.
Each of the two Contracting Parties shall, as far as possible, provide scholarships and participate in material assistance to enable the study, research work and specialisation of students, technicians, engineers, scientists and artists of the other Contracting Party.
The Parties shall, as far as possible, promote cooperation between radio and television organisations, press agencies and film businesses in accordance with the legal provisions.
The Contracting Parties shall take the necessary measures to further identify each other.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall draw up and negotiate implementing plans the duration of which and the financing arrangements shall be determined by common agreement.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature and shall remain in force unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing within a period of at least six months.
In Paris on 20 April 1964, in three copies, each in the Czech, French and English languages, the texts of the Czech and French are of decisive importance.
