The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on visa-free travel of citizens was signed in Zagreb on 5 March 1996.
The Agreement entered into force on 9 June 1996 pursuant to Article 11 (1) thereof. The Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on the visa waiver of 8 October 1964, published under No 13 / 1965 Coll.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.
AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on visa-free travel of citizens
The Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Croatia (hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting Parties'), which wish to develop friendly relations between the two States and in order to facilitate travel arrangements for the citizens of their states, have agreed as follows:
1. Citizens of the States of both Contracting Parties holding valid travel documents listed in the Annex to this Agreement may enter, leave the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party, travel without visas and stay without a visa for a stay of not more than 90 (90) days.
2. For a stay of more than 90 (90) days or for a stay for the purpose of gainful activity, citizens of a State of one Contracting Party must obtain visas of that State before entering the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party.
1. Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party who are members of a diplomatic mission or consular post in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party and hold a valid diplomatic or service passport may reside in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party for the duration of their secondment without visa.
2. Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party, members of the family of persons referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article who live with them in the common household and hold valid diplomatic or service passports, may stay without visas in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party during their secondment.
Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party may enter the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party at any border crossing point for international contact.
The Contracting Parties shall immediately inform each other, by diplomatic means, of the changes made to national legislation governing the conditions of entry, stay and travel.
Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party shall be required to comply with its laws and other generally binding laws when staying in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party.
This Agreement shall be without prejudice to the right of both Contracting Parties to refuse entry or residence of citizens of the State of the other Contracting Party who could jeopardise security or public policy as well as persons without sufficient means to cover the costs of their stay.
1. Each Contracting Party shall retain the right to refuse entry or stay on its territory to undesirable persons.
2. The Contracting Parties undertake to recruit citizens of their States on their territory without barriers.
1. Each Contracting Party may temporarily suspend the application of this Agreement in whole or in part for reasons of security, protection of public order, protection of the health of the population or of other serious reasons, except in the cases referred to in Article 7 (2).
2. The introduction or withdrawal of the abovementioned safeguard measures shall be communicated without delay to the other Party by diplomatic channels and shall enter into force on the date of notification of this notification to the other Party.
Citizens of the State of the Contracting Party who lose a valid travel document in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party shall travel from the State of stay to a new valid travel document issued by the relevant diplomatic mission or consular post.
1. The Contracting Parties shall exchange models of valid travel documents through diplomatic channels.
2. In the event of a change in valid travel documents or the introduction of new types of travel documents, the Contracting Parties shall exchange their models by diplomatic means no later than 30 (30) days before their introduction.
1. This Agreement shall be subject to approval in accordance with the national law of the States of the two Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the 30th (30) day following the date of receipt of the later notes informing the Contracting Parties of its national approval.
2. On the date of entry into force of this Agreement, the Agreement on the visa waiver between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia of 8 October 1964 shall cease to apply in relations between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Croatia.
This Agreement shall be concluded for an indefinite period. Each Party may denounce it. The Agreement shall expire 90 (90) days following the date of notification of the written notice of denunciation by diplomatic means to the other Contracting Party.

Annex to the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on visa-free travel for citizens
The following shall be valid travel documents within the meaning of this Agreement:
1. For citizens of the Czech Republic:
(a) diplomatic passport
(b) service passport
(c) Passport
(d) a sailor's book
(e) passport.
2. For citizens of the Republic of Croatia:
(a) diplomatic passport
(b) service passport
(c) Passport
(d) a sailor's book
(e) passport.
