THE LAW
of 20 December 1950
_
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
The Czechoslovak people, in the spirit of their progressive traditions, after terrible experience of war and fascist occupation, decided to build their new and just life in peace and peace, a happy and joyful home, decided to build socialism in their homeland.
The Czechoslovak people stand firmly in the camp of peace, determined to defend world peace, threatened by the instigators of a new war. He accepted challenge II with enthusiasm. The World Peace Defender Congress as an expression of the irrefutable determination of all honest people in the world to defend peace and prevent a new war.
He has already made clear in his new, popular democratic laws his will to protect the peaceful coexistence of nations and to punish all those who threaten peace. Knowing that the promoters of the new war are increasing the war threats and propaganda of the new war and moving towards open offensive acts, the Czechoslovak people are enacting a law to protect peace in order to reaffirm and support even more effectively the efforts for world peace and international solidarity.
It is therefore established:
§ 1.
(1) Whoever tries to upset the peaceful coexistence of nations by any way encouraging war, promoting war, or otherwise supporting war propaganda, commits a crime against peace.
(2) The offender will be punished by deprivation of liberty for one year to ten years; by withdrawing liberty for 10 years to 15 years, the offender shall be punished if the offence referred to in paragraph 1 is committed
(a) as a member of the association;
(b) to a significant extent; or
(c) if there is another aggravating circumstance.
§ 2.
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication; it shall be carried out by all members of the Government.
