Communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the negotiation of the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the establishment of tourist paths intersecting national borders

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the establishment of tourist paths intersecting national borders was negotiated in exchange for notes of 24 January and 27 February 1996 in Bonn and Prague.
This Agreement was negotiated on the basis of Article 3 (1) of the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on small border traffic on tourist trails and in tourist zones and on the crossing of national borders in special cases of 3 November 1994, published under No 237 / 1994 Coll.
The Agreement entered into force on 27 February 1996.
The Czech version of the Czech note and the translation of the German note are announced simultaneously.

VERBAL NOTE
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the honour to communicate to the Embassy of the Czech Republic, in view of the negotiations between the expert delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany and the expert delegation of the Czech Republic on the establishment of tourist paths intersecting the border which took place from 27 to 29 November 1995 in Cham, the final text of the Arrangement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic on the establishment of tourist paths intersecting the border, the text of which should be as follows:
1. The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic have agreed on the basis of Article 3 (1) of the Agreement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic on small border traffic on tourist trails and in tourist zones and on crossing national borders in specific cases of 3 November 1994 (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement") on the establishment of the following border crossing routes:

1) Carriages with internal combustion engines are not permitted.
2. The crossing of national borders on the tourist routes referred to in point 1 shall be permitted as a general rule on a daily basis.
between 6.00 and 22.00 between 1 April and 30 September, and
between 8.00 and 18.00 from 1 October to 31 March.
On the hiking trail Kreuzstein - The Cross Stone is allowed to cross state borders daily
from 6.00 to 22.00, from 1 June to 31 October; and
between 8.00 and 18.00 from 1 December to 31 March.
3. The opening of the above tourist trails will take place on 1 March 1996.
4. The course of the tourist trails in the individual territories will be communicated in the form of special diplomatic notes.
If the Government of the Czech Republic gives its assent to the proposals of the Federal Republic of Germany, this verbal note and the responsible note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing the consent of the Government of the Czech Republic, the Arrangement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic, which will enter into force on the date of the note and will apply for the duration of the Agreement.
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany uses this opportunity to reassure the Embassy of the Czech Republic of its deep respect.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic shows respect for the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and has the honour of confirming the receipt of Note No. 510- 511.13 / 3 of the TSR of 24 January 1996, which, following negotiations by experts' delegations on 27-29 November 1995 in Cham, proposes the conclusion of the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the establishment of tourist paths intersecting the national border of the following text:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the honour to propose the conclusion of the Agreement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic on the establishment of cross-border hiking trails in Cham on 27 and 29 November 1995, the conclusion of the Agreement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic on the establishment of cross-border hiking trails, which is to have the following text:
1. The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic agree on the basis of Article 3 (1) of the Agreement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic on small border traffic on tourist routes and in tourist zones and the crossing of national borders in specific cases of 3 November 1994 (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement") on the establishment of the following tourist paths intersecting national borders:

On the hiking trail of the Cross Stone - Kreuzstein is allowed crossing state borders daily
from 06.00 to 22.00, from 1 June to 31 October; and
from 08.00 to 18.00 from 1 December to 31 March.
3. The opening of the above tourist trails will take place on 1 March 1996.
4. The course of the tourist trails in the individual territories will be communicated in the form of special diplomatic notes.
If the Government of the Czech Republic expresses its consent to the proposals of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, this verbal note and the responsible note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing the consent of the Government of the Czech Republic, will constitute the Agreement between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Czech Republic, which will enter into force on the date of the relevant note and will remain in force for the same period as the Agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs uses this opportunity to reassure the Embassy of the Czech Republic with respect. "
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic has the honour to state that the Government of the Czech Republic agrees with the proposals of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. Accordingly, the Note of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and that Note of the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the establishment of hiking trails, which will enter into force on 27 December, will be valid for the duration of the Agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic uses this opportunity to reassure the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany with its respect.
