The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the visa waiver was signed in Seoul on 6 October 1994.
The Agreement entered into force on 5 November 1994 pursuant to Article 10 thereof.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time. The English version of the Agreement, which is relevant for its interpretation, can be consulted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea
on the visa waiver
The Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea (hereinafter referred to as the Parties), led by the wish to facilitate the travel of their citizens between their respective territories, have agreed on the following:
Citizens of a State of one of the Contracting Parties - holders of valid passports - may enter the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party without a visa for a stay of no more than 90 (90) days and who do not serve a profitable or gainful activity.
Citizens of a State of one of the Contracting Parties - holders of valid passports as referred to in Article 1 who intend to stay for more than 90 days or wish to pursue a profitable or gainful activity in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party must obtain visas in advance at the diplomatic or consular office of the other Contracting Party.
Citizens of a State of one of the Contracting Parties - holders of valid diplomatic and service or official passports - shall be entitled to be assigned to the diplomatic or consular office of that Contracting Party in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party and their family members living with them in the common household shall be able to enter the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party and stay without visas for the duration of their secondment.
Citizens of the State of each Contracting Party shall be subject to the laws and regulations of the other Contracting Party in force during their stay in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party.
Each Contracting Party shall reserve the right to refuse entry or stay in its own State to persons it considers undesirable.
Each Contracting Party reserves the right to suspend, in whole or in part, the application of this Agreement on grounds of public policy, state security or health protection. It shall immediately inform the other Contracting Party of such suspension or termination by diplomatic means. Such a measure shall take effect on the date of notification to the other Contracting Party.
Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party may enter the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party at international crossing points.
1. Citizens of a State of one Contracting Party who have lost their valid passports in the territory of the State of the other Contracting Party shall travel from that territory with the relevant documents issued by the diplomatic or consular office of their State.
2. The relevant documents referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article shall be the travel document for the Czech Republic and the travel document for the Republic of Korea.
The Contracting Parties shall exchange the model passports and relevant documents referred to in Article 8 and the necessary information on their use and shall inform each other without delay of any change in their form or content and of any new model.
This Agreement shall enter into force 30 (30) days after the date of signature.
Each Party may terminate this Agreement in writing by diplomatic means at any time. In such a case, the Agreement shall cease to be in force 60 (60) days after the date of service of the statement to the other Contracting Party.
In order to prove this signature, duly empowered by their governments, they have signed this Agreement.
Dane in Seoul on 6 October 1994 in two original copies, each in Czech, Korean and English, all versions authentic. In case of differences in interpretation, the English text is decisive.
